I hadn't even thought of that since you left and went emo on us.
Kiradawea2010-02-17 22:49:40
I honestly don't recall why I even had the Maylea enemy status. Was never enemied to any other forest divine. Diplomacy didn't show since it was way, WAY before Diplomacy was introduced.

Xiel reflexively enemied all commune enemies, so that's how you were enemied (I think). (And Lendren actually went through and updated all of the diplomacy stuff with what we knew)
Xiel2010-02-17 23:12:51
Nah. I enemied during the spam HG/XI events. Maymay didn't like willy nilly enemying, so I had to wait till they did something in Ethereal before I did something.
Kiradawea2010-02-17 23:56:10
It still didn't mention when I checked. But eh, it's not like it matters. I got it fixed and that's that.
Shaddus2010-02-18 02:36:10
Also Rael, no offense but you aren't a novice. Some guides don't mind your questions and some do. If you have a problem with guides, feel free to complain about it, but realize that even though some don't mind you asking them questions you should already know, it's technically not in their job description to help you, because... well, you aren't a novice.
TL;DR version: Some guides like guiding, some just want the credits. Both put up with questions from people they shouldn't have to answer. Don't like it, apply to be a guide

@Shaddus & Eventru
I haven't interacted with a Guide for some time but I still see things on the Newbie aether. My concern was that some Guides are not doing their job by
1. being unresponsive. For example a newbie asks a question, a Guide is awake but there is seemingly no response. The question might have been addressed privately, but I think a public question should get a public response, if only so others can learn. If you can answer the question, ("Where can I earn gold?") then there's no need to pawn it off to collegium professors.
2. qq'ing when two or three novices have questions and it starts to get busy. This is most common when a Guide is on at 3am-ish (in most parts of North America) but if you don't want questions then don't log on in the first place! Again, I don't know the whole story so this might not be true but from the outside this is what it looks like.
I don't think a guide deserves to be punished even if they're doing a poor job because they are volunteers. However, if you are receiving credits for your work you should be obligated to deliver some minimal level of service which should include accurate information, (to the best of your ability, you can't be expected to know everything) a timely response, (don't idle and hope that someone else will answer the question for you) and attempt to be helpful. (don't be rude, pretend there are no stupid questions)
Most Guides are awesome so this isn't a serious problem. I don't know why I mentioned it.

It might be wrong, but I think it's really funny when denizens talk about Hallifax as if it was still frozen, and they don't get it when I try to break the news to them. I like to imagine they're just really stubborn.

Diplomacy did show, actually, since once it went in, I set notes and comments on every single order enemy with whatever information we had available (including whether there was no information available).

Now I have the image in my head of Lusternian NPCs as those Japanese holdouts in WW2.

Belated rave for Nymerya for the following:
Crafted from a faintly blue-tinted platinum, this elaborate tiara is in
a wide band, designed to sit high on the crown. It is roughly a
hand-span in height at the centre, narrowing towards the two ends which
end in delicate wires twined into the form of curling vines. The body of
the tiara is divided into three sections from top to bottom, with the
narrowest two sections serving as frames for the middle, bejewelled
band. These two narrow bands bear clear diamonds cut into perfect,
fluffy clouds, banded with double rows of chips of orange-red ruby. The
inner band of the tiara is crafted with diamond-set sprays of flowers
that twine their way from end to end, the pattern broken only by three
equidistant oval spaces. Within these spaces are set large sapphires,
each rich, blue stone echoing the oval shape of its setting. The
polished stones are each supported by a delicate, diamond-set snowflake
of thin platinum wire.
It weighs 2 ounce(s).
It bears the distinctive mark of Gerent Jael d'Murani, Aois-Dana of Damnation.
It has been stamped with the seal of The Clockwork Antiquities Cartel.
It has a Great Rune of Absorption attached to it (#23426).
