Guards and discretionary powers drain from the Conquest Pool, yes. The villages, instead of channeling power into the 'main' Nexus Pool, channel to the Conquest Pool instead.

So intead of using the governing style that gets extra power, you picked the governing style that gets OMFG extra power? Nice. sleep.gif

Yeah, can't really say I see the point in having conquest as another option.

It's not all that awesome, actually. Our 'main' income per weave is drastically down, as most of it (village power) is now poured into Conquest Pool. Our power gain is just the same as it was a month ago, only now it's divided into two pools.
Lendren2010-04-20 10:41:28
So you're saying you were getting that much anyway? I guess that only changes where the OMFG comes in.

Nah, it builds up over time; that conquest pool is a summary of extra power that we've gained that guards / discretionaries haven't used since we switched to it.

It's pretty much the same power income as religious / despotic, only we can't use it on anything but guards and discretionaries (because it lives in a separate pool that can only be used on them).

I'm quite sure that still looks like a lot compared to the incomes of other player communities. And how much of that time was spent sitting on our hands without a village to hit due to "alliances"? We've also only had one village at a time to beat up on, right? chin.gif

It's based on how many villages you have, not how many aslaran kids you've newbie-kicked into submission.

Conquest pool income isn't based on villages-to-hit, though. It just seems to be a flat amount per village, roughly the same as you'd get if you were religious / despotic-- the only difference is that it can't be used on anything except guards and discretionaries.

Given that we've been Conquest for quite a while now, I'm not sure that really qualifies as "a lot"-- Lusternia is actually lowering our power gain by shunting the extra off into this side-pool that we can't actually use.

Though it does mean that we can use discretionaries quite often without having to touch the regular Nexus power, I guess. Heh.

Beating up on a village just makes that village "like" us more (though as of yet we've never seen any positive gain from it). I don't think it affects anything else.

Ooh. That makes quite a bit of difference, then. Carry on.

Is that really it, or does it make the other villages you control like you more (specifically that village's competitor)?

Putting that aside, pending rave - blowing up less when I test new triggers.

As per the help files, all it does is help with that specific village's feelings.

In a side discussion it has been mentioned it might also help with the competitive-village (in this case Paavik), but that was phrased as a "maybe" and never actually verified afaik.

Gain in the villages that we own one of seems to be about the same whether or not we slaughter the opposing village, so... who knows.

I just don't understand why. You could sell your esteem at lower prices and get less money faster, or you could sell your esteem at the SAME prices, and get more money which you won't use mister "100K hunting trip".

Amid a tumultuous chaos of swirling axioms, the clarion voice of Akui rings, "Consider the colourful bird that sang from the tree. It was too busy singing, and missed the worm, and thus went hungry."
