Basically, this. It's not a problem to get three people for a Resurgem coven...
I've actually seen plenty of times we couldn't get three people, but "can't find a leader" is still a good deal more common than "can't get two more members" even so.

Logging into Llesvelt on the Iron Realms site to write a little bit about Lusternia.
Then taking a look at the News that Llesvelt is able to perceive and noting that the new Cultural Minister Sylandra is going to keep the form and calendar introduced while Llesvelt was Cultural Minister.
It might be a very minor thing, but it made me very happy

The chance at 100 credits isn't anywhere near enough to make me apply my lips to Matt Mihaly or Jeremy Saunder's butt. No testimonials from me.

Shikari giving me a favour!
Sadly I didn't log in yesterday and wasn't able to use it.

I've seen this attitude twice now. I've got my personal issues with IRE and Lusternia. There's stuff I'd like to see different. But I play, there is stuff I like, and I don't mind saying what I like so we can have some new people. Now I need to ask, why the rage?

I just like writing testimonials. I would probably do it if the credit prize was not featured, as well. Though I can't be sure, of course.

You mistake me if you think it's rage. It's really not. Yes, it's worded strongly, but that's how I feel about writing testimonials. I've recommended IRE muds by word-of-mouth before. It's got nothing to do with how much or how little I like the games.
EDIT: It's got to do with honesty, I suppose. If I'm talking to someone, face-to-face, I can be completely honest about how I feel towards a game. I can explain what I think is good and what I think is bad or needs improvement. A testimonial basically has to gush about how awesomesauce a game is, and that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. While I may feel that a game has its good points, I don't feel right about not discussing what I don't like or what could be changed about it. I really do not like recommending games to someone only to have them come back to me and say that they didn't like it. It's like, "why didn't you tell me about such-and-such thing?"
Ileein2010-07-29 02:16:04
I am perfectly willing to gush about how awesomesauce Lusternia is, as I genuinely feel this way. I would not be able to do the same about any other IRE, though I could probably come up with at least a handful of good points for each one.
Llesvelt2010-07-29 02:16:15
Elostian granted Llesvelt a CityFavour!
... And I have no idea why!
I trust it is one he deserved, though, so it's all good.
EDIT
I feel a bit the same way, I do not think I would honestly be able to write a testimonial for the other IRE games, because it is really just Lusternia I like.

I would consider writing a testimonial, but a majority of what I love about Lusternia involves me writing code.

You should ditch your client project and code a new game.

I wrote a gushing testimonial for Lusternia. Heck, I've gushed right here on the forum about the very same things I put into the testimonial. If there weren't anything to gush about, I wouldn't be here. I'm picky! I spent a long time searching for the MUD I wanted to stick with, and IRE MUDs can be expensive, so it wasn't a decision (or investment) I decided upon lightly. I don't waste my time or money on games I don't actually enjoy, whether they're free or not.
Does Lusternia have its problems? Sure, and plenty of them. I've raged about those at length right here on the forum, too. We're talking about page after page of arguing over, for example, multiple trans trade items (which I don't even care about anymore, ha ha).
But I don't think it's dishonest to omit the negative things in a testimonial, particularly since the positives far outweigh the negatives. Anyone with a brain must surely know that there are always negative points to everything in life, and that unfortunately you'll have to discover them on your own. For-profit companies don't advertise themselves using criticism, nor should they. I figure they'll be using testimonials regardless, and one of them might as well be mine.

Somehow I feel a bit nostalgic reading these Elder Wars books as they come out now. It's a nice tradition. And the book itself was great too. I wonder how we're gonna deal with the banshees and so on now.

Whee. One more village down. I wonder if there're more puzzles like this besides this one and Shallamurine. I absolutely adore them.
