I see a hot female goddess in the future for Magnagora >.>

They did introduce a few new gods to keep us guessing who'll be the next new! I doubt they'd add another god to an organisation that's not Hallifax/Gaudiguch, though.
Shiri2010-07-29 08:18:01
Didn't stop Shikari.
Kante2010-07-29 08:30:44
They didn't ADD another god to Glom, though, they just gave one of the existing gods a player.

That aside, my rave is that I'm finally CR6 in Mag.

Dreams!

Also, that hot female goddess is just a Glamours Elder Influencer. quickexit.gif

I was late dry.gif

It did not occur to me that taking a break from a character does not mean he is locked and I can not access him for such stuff. I must have been tired.

Thanks for the reminder, though. Agh, I feel so stupid now tongue.gif

You'll want to look into the Throne of Urlach as well.

Unrelated: First person completed the Path of Whispers today! Yay it isn't a failure!

And Shanthmark, and Malacoda, and probably a few others I'm not familiar with.

The Temporal Conclave is pure win.

Aeral - winning a duel yesterday against Halie. Ohh yeah. Though it was a damage kill... which kind of fails. But I won! biggrin.gif

Zayden - meeting the Princess of Celest and her being so kind to him. He more tongue-tied than ever. He's so adorable. -excuse me while I gush over my own character-

Eamon.

Everytime I see this man, I'm inspired and my resolve strengthens. I just love him!

It really is. We'll have to have contests between the Institute and the Sentinels. The Institute will be trying to see how much timeline-warping information they can get out of the Conclave, while the Sentinels will be trying to keep the Institute from getting any information at all.
Shulamit2010-07-29 21:39:53
Oh, most excellent. My a frosted omnibus of elegant crystal, got accepted. Frosted here being, cold and damp. Like, frost. Yes, I know frosted glass could also meaning, not see-through, but. This is frosty...as in cold. Most delicious. And it's for the Institute. Well, in the sense it has their seal on it. Now, for the jade one!

I've seen this attitude twice now. I've got my personal issues with IRE and Lusternia. There's stuff I'd like to see different. But I play, there is stuff I like, and I don't mind saying what I like so we can have some new people. Now I need to ask, why the rage?

Same as Denust said, it's not rage, it's just too much regard for honesty. I'm one of those people who believes a half-truth is still a form of a lie. I pretty much feel the exact opposite of what Felicia said:

QUOTE (Felicia @ Jul 29 2010, 02:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Anyone with a brain must surely know that there are always negative points to everything in life, and that unfortunately you'll have to discover them on your own. For-profit companies don't advertise themselves using criticism, nor should they.

Laws against false advertising exist for a reason: because while a company is expected to make themselves look as good as possible, they have to be honest about the downsides, even if they're in smaller print. It's only right. While IRE covers itself in that regard by having TOS posted on their site, very few people will see that fine print before playing the game, and personally I don't feel right contributing to misleading them. My testimonial would probably start with "Be aware that the legal disclaimers aren't just there for this company's protection. They will exercise those rights, such as taking away the ability of things you pay a lot of money for, and you won't even get a "we apologize for the inconvenience" lip service when you contact 'customer service' about it." And then I would proceed with a few more minor cons and the overwhelming pros. Except of course that would never be acceptable. And even saying it here where people already know it, my post will probably be deleted as soon as Eventru gets here. They put it in their disclaimer for everyone to see but if you mention it yourself, they get upset. We're not supposed to discuss facts stated on the site, if it will give someone pause before choosing where their money goes. And yeah I don't think that's right, and that's why when I discuss Lusternia with friends who don't play it, I'll tell them all the great stuff but I'll also point this out and suggest they be careful with what they buy. I'd feel like a, uh, donkey, if I didn't. But that's just me and I realize I'm in the vast minority.

QUOTE (Felicia @ Jul 29 2010, 02:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I figure they'll be using testimonials regardless, and one of them might as well be mine.

I don't do things I consider unethical for money. dunno.gif

Also, even with the recent admin and "customer service" problems, Lusternia is still far better than the other IRE games, so even if Lusternia were perfect, I couldn't justify writing a testimony for all of IRE. If it were just Lusternia, maybe. If Lusternia were gush-worthy and right now I'm not feelin' the wub.gif so it's not. And... am I the only one who finds it odd that they are bribing people to say good things about them? With the rate of player increase I wouldn't think that necessary...
Xavius2010-07-29 22:24:04
I don't think that rebalancing efforts are even vaguely inappropriate just because people buy credits. That seems like a real stretch.
Unknown2010-07-29 23:01:15
Lusternia's TOS is no different from anyone else's. When you create a character and register it, you're required to agree that you've read it. Therefore, if you are one of the many who don't read it, the fault lies with you when Bad Things befall you.

I feel that Lusternia's administration, and IRE in general, goes out of their way to make the players happy. Sure, there will be a few here and there that feel slighted, but you either get over it and move on or you go play a different game.
Unknown2010-07-29 23:04:47
Laws against false advertising can only apply to things which are not opinion. Since most of what people may dislike about Lusternia is based largely, if not entirely, on opinion, false advertising doesn't apply. Unless of course a poll was taken, and they reported completely false results. Or results for a poll which was never taken. Keep in mind, I'm not a lawyer, so it's possible I'm wrong, but logically it wouldn't make a lick of sense to try and apply false advertising laws to purely subjective things.

Simply collecting good opinions rather than negative ones is not only legal, but encouraged by most economic models. I'm a firm believer in "let the buyer beware" and I think if you don't bother doing your own research, then you get what you deserve. This includes me, the few times I've been hit by it myself.

Just my (unasked for) opinion.
