Yes, it is a text game which means we all play for fun. Essays are totally not fun!

I agree with this. Essays are bad.

/echoes essay-naying.

I phrased all of the scholarly faith tasks as "in word or in speech" so that people who didn't want to drag themselves through the writing could just spew.

Some people can enjoy writing essays for a game. Some can't. I don't believe the others have to be shunted away from all culture/rp activity.

Big, big raves to see that people like my little OCD project website and people helping me fix it when I've got something wrong! wub.gif Now, if only I could somehow add in a search function and I'd be golden. cloud9.gif

Inspiration to become active again.

And, being a writer, inspiration in general.

Oh, pfft. It has a built in one, it's a GOOGLEpage.

Just put SITE:http://xieltalnara.googlepages.com/ in at the main google website.
Xiel2009-01-15 00:25:45
Well, I don't want people to have to go through the hassle of going through google when they're already on my website. D: Must find a way, hmm!

Put in a textbox and a button that will automatically prefix their input with SITE:http://xieltalnara.googlepages.com/ and send them off to google? That's how they did it up on Lancersreactor when I was over there.

Hmm, now if I can somehow find a way to understand that. dunce.gif Time to experiment!

Having a free 10k. Now, what to do with it...

Hmm...

Oh, look! An election!

QUOTE
You say to Tokota Snowmane, "Greetings, wise Elder. I thought I would come watch the stars again tonight."

You sit yourself down.

Tokota Snowmane nods his head sagely.

Tokota Snowmane says, "What do you see, brother?"

Everiine looks up at the stars.

You say, "I see many things I do not understand. The movements are not as clear to me as they are to you. But even one such as I can see that trials lay ahead for the Serenwilde, and for the Basin."

Tokota Snowmane crosses his arms against his chest, a little smile playing upon his face.

Tokota Snowmane says, "You could be a fortuneteller. Vague is the key."

The corners of your mouth turn up as you grin mischievously.

You say, "I see much the same every night. I fear peace is something we will not see in our time."

You ask Tokota Snowmane, "What do you see, Wise One?"

Raising a hand to point at the star fixed over Avechna's Peak, Tokota Snowmane says, "The unyielding has moved a finger's breadth to the west."

Tokota Snowmane says, "I assume it has come from the weakness in the tapestry of life recently."

Everiine follows your gaze to Avechna's Peak.

Tokota Snowmane says, "It is good to remember how small we are within all these things. Even the stars are pressed out of their usual path... what weight have we next to this?"

You nod your head emphatically.

You say to Tokota Snowmane, "Much is asked of mortals in these times."

Idly, Tokota Snowmane says, "Are shards up to a task beyond that of Elder Gods?"

You say to Tokota Snowmane, "Whether we are up to the task or not, the task has fallen to us. It is not a fair task."

You give a pained sigh.

Tokota Snowmane says, "Fate is woven and played out as it must be."

With a resigned sigh, you say to Tokota Snowmane, "Aye, it is. The wheel is set in its motion."

With a tight smile, Tokota Snowmane says, "Does it ever stop, brother?"

With a faint grin, you say to Tokota Snowmane, "No, no it does not, brother."

Tokota Snowmane paws at the ground with one hoof idly.

Everiine returns his gaze to the stars, watching as they travel their courses through the night.

Tokota Snowmane says, "The Sun passes through the Glacier..."

Tokota Snowmane points out the constellation.

Everiine follows the constellation with his finger, using his wings to steady himself.

Tokota Snowmane says, "Who do you think will be raised to save us all?"

You say, "My heart wishes for another Seren to take up the burden. For the time being, anyone would do, so long as they could strengthen the Seals. But what happens after that? We were lucky that last time it was a Seren who Ascended, and one of our brothers as well. Should an enemy ascend, it would bode ill for the Seren."

A wry smile spreads across Tokota Snowmane's face.

Tokota Snowmane says, "Go and see that our star shines brightest."

Glom got a village! blink.gif

Even though I have the stomach ache from Hell and had to miss out on participating, I'm still super happy that people seem to be pulling their acts together.

Yay Glom.

It was amusing-- he didn't even show until the end, after being so gung-ho about it beforehand. happy.gif

Eventru buggering at Celest and giving us updates. It's nice having a little barometer on how things are going in a village. content.gif

It's weired how he always comes out of the woodwork when there's a revolt though. I think he's schedueling them. ninja.gif

It is equally a RL rant, however:

Having three 4,000 word essays to write means that I get a load of writing done IC...

Pretty unfair - I rarely make comments on villages anymore. And this time, it was 'Best hurry up!' .5s later, Glomdoring took the village, and a second later I said, 'before Glomdoring takes it.' And then scolded you all for it. Tsk.
