This was insane.

I'm sure I did a couple things wrong, but this needs to be fixed.

EDIT: Yeah, yeah, I spammed a few times. I just got a little weirded out.
Llandros2008-10-15 21:44:54
That's rough. I think it's crazy that a pet can block glamours.

Also, if he hits you with herb bane you might as well drop octive since you won't be able to eat horehound anyway, you can keep him from doing the same.

Edit: Also, you need some way to turn off your horehound trigger since he pretty much just gave you herb bane and then nudged you into killing yourself.

Octave gives him the advantage, since you can still cure 50% of the time. That way, Izekeal has to do even less work.
Llandros2008-10-15 22:02:43
I'm pretty sure octive completely stops curing of auric afflictions, which is what he was eating the horehound for. There are not many ways around it besides leaving the room. I think trueheal gets through it but it's 10 power.

I guess if he had focus spirit it might not be worth it, but otherwise it would level the playing field some as far as music afflictions go.
Unknown2008-10-15 22:15:54
Sooo herb bane causes damage when you eat an herb. Does it also stop the cure from working?

If so, don't eat anything when you have herb bane.

If not, define a few afflictions or sets of afflictions under which you will eat an herb, and otherwise not.

Still kind of sucks though.

Yes, it does stop it. And if you don't cure it, he will just go to town with the attack that hits 700 mana and ego, so you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Well, if it does stop the cure from working, then you -can't- cure it, so why keep eating horehound?

herb bane has a chance to fire and stop the cure, but you can insta eat the herb again, cause it doesn't consume herb balance

Personally I think the chance to block the cure should be lowered a bit as with bards herb bane can be excessive.

Though, other than being pfifthed so I couldn't escape as needed easily, I haven't really had issue with the curing/damage myself and I am by no means in the top tier of combat.
Unknown2008-10-15 22:43:50
Yep, herbbane's broken with bard affs. Yep, it's gonna get get fixed.

1v1, running around and refusing to fight in octave is what you're gonna be reduced to, considering herb bane's incurable. I wouldn't bother fighting with herbbane on me in groups though.

Also, start greening to cure aural affs instead.

You eat a horehound blossom.
A horehound blossom turns to ash in your mouth, which you spit out.
You hear an ominous sound, and a dull pain stab throbs throughout your head.
You hear strange whispers, and a sharp pain stabs you between the eyes.

The heck...don't let your health fall below 1000 before you start eating moss and sipping scroll.

Also - diagnose more, you had way more afflictions than you think due to his pet stinging you with charybdon a few times...

In summary:
*Don't be afraid to sip health.
*Eat sparkleberry and read scroll -before- you are about to die..
*He killed your passives, you didn't put them back up!
*Diagnose more.
*Herbbane isn't really that OP.
*Nerf trueheal.

When you have over 10k health, no, it's not. For everyone else, yes, it is.
Desitrus2008-10-15 22:50:24
Doesn't scale, so yes, it does incredible damage to small pool players.

I know, next time I deal with it, I'll post a log. I'm about as small health you can get.
Ardmore2008-10-15 23:12:55
I agree. Ecology is ridiculous and needs to be nerfed smile.gif

So if Herbbane is OP and anything OP needs immediate nerfing why hasn't Inquisition been nerfed yet. sad.gif
Ardmore2008-10-15 23:34:56
I have 7600 or so. I don't remember.

Not that I'm disagreeing, but what is a Celestine supposed to do otherwise? I would honestly like to know, since I'm always wanting to add new strategies to my arsenal or learn more about combat.

But absolving people with a ton of mana is near impossible, and absolving a demigod really is impossible, unless their curing is bad.

Judgement takes too long, so again, someone has to have bad curing to get tied down for the length of time it takes to use it. (Or you can gang up on them, but I'm referring to 1v1 fights here)

This might not be true if we were faster, but with speed nerfs I don't think you can achieve that anymore.

Inquisition is not overpowered, because with the right skills it is possible to avoid without leaving the room. I've done it multiple times right infront of the Celestines and Paladins attempting to Inquisition me, without laying one finger on them and without shielding.

Note:

Everyone can gain the skills too, no matter the archetype.

Thanks for stating the obvious. Inquisition is still overpowered however.
