I posted a few in an earlier post, you can borrow if you're stuck. Or we can come up with new ones! What's your favorite genre? Horror? Fantasy? Sci-fi? Historical fiction? Romance?
I have been known to enjoy a fantastically horrible historical romance from time to time...

Hmm... maybe some civil war soldiers accidentally set off a curse on an old indian burial ground, causing their fallen comrades to raise from the dead as flesh eating zombies and that's the real story behind the burning of Atlanta. It wasn't Sherman at all, it was a horde of zombies and the brave men from both sides of the war who managed to work together and fight them off. Of course, the women of Atlanta were ever so grateful and showed great appreciation for their stalwart bravery in the face of the flesh eating horde.
That's a pretty horrible historical romance!

Actually, I wasn't! I was, admittedly, trying to be funny, but at the same time, trying to come up with something at least half-way decent.
And I actually think it'd be a pretty great story too! But then, I love zombies.

Aaahhh! It's already the 30th and I don't have an oooutline done. >.<
Luckily, I have a few free hours tonight, but that's pretty much it.

I've decided to go sans outline! I have the general timeline of events in my head, the main characters named and stuff like that, but I've decided to go with the 'just write it and see what happens' method. As long as certain particular plot points are reached, reaching them can be a happy surprise.

See, the problem with that for me is, I've tried that before, and it burned me baaaad.
A year or so ago I was working on a novel, and in a matter of a couple weeks I had written almost the entire first draft without an outline. All I had was a beginning and end and a rough idea of what I wanted to happen, and it worked out great at first.
Then I had a new idea, one that seemed perfect, and seemed like it would bring certain loose elements together.
Unfortunately, it wasn't something that could be just crammed in and required a complete re-write which never happened because I lost momentum and let work get in the way.
So, I'm hoping if I have an outline this time, something similar won't happen, that I can catch anything like that before I start writing.

Both ways work, you need to find something that fits your style of writing. I've always been suggested to have an outline, because it can help organize ideas, however it's always come with the warning that this can be very rigid.
Also, as a small help to people who seem to lose their buzz; try freewriting, which is writing about everyone and everything that comes to mind without thinking. It helps clear writers block.
Welp, back to what I was doing.

Thanks, Diamondias! I'll keep that in mind. I do get knocked upside the head with writers block sometimes.

I didn't think so but so long as I still have time to register, I may, as I've recently gotten back into contact with my old writing teacher and with that comes the guilt of "Why am I not writing?", it's the same with art. When I get home from my workshop and shower, I'll have a look-see if I can or not.
Whether I write or not is dependant on how much time I have available to me, I'm expecting a trip to the Soo Michigan on the 14th and a trip to Hamilton/Burlington sometime during November as well. Plus finals, woo, finals.

Oh, you can! You can sign up anytime before the end of November. Though of course, if you sign up after the 1st, you have less writing time.
