Well, spending a lot of my time running around on fire has brought me to some various conclusions :
* - A fire weakness could matter less.
*- Fire damage is lower than I've been previously believing. Low enough that Level 2 regeneration can surpass it.
*- There should be a pose, or some sort of room message about a person being on fire. As it is, all they have to show that I'm on fire is that I'm running around and telling them that I am.
*- Fire is funny.

Fight Obesefessors as an Orclach sometime.
Fire weakness definitely can be a painful thing.

Only on direct damage. Actually being of fire is completely ignorable. I want room emotes for this! I could totally be that burning mage from Planescape: Torment

A lot of people have speculated that being on fire is so feeble because someday, when there are pyromancers around, it's going to be a lot more dangerous. Not because it will do more damage but because it will be a setup for things that will. Lusternia's history is full of things that made no sense until something else, that had been planned all along but we didn't know about, came along and made it make sense.

Isn't ablaze just Achaea legacy code?
Gwylifar2008-10-26 11:43:58
No more so than anorexia or a few dozen other afflictions. There are Achaea afflictions that didn't come over, though. And there are mobs that cause ablaze, which doesn't happen without some builder choosing to do it. So ablaze is still there at least somewhat on purpose. Given that we know "pyromancer" is a planned class, it seems likely that it will become relevant to them.

Ablaze already leads to telekinetic pyre, which does roughly 1/4 of your current health if you're on fire. It's just really easy to cure.

I don't really want to play with fire right now -- ha!
Feel free to bug the idea of showing a person on fire in the room. I don't mind that if a coder is available to take it on.
