Exquisitely fashioned to resemble a life-size gallbladder, the chocolate confection consists of a soft, ovoid shell of milk chocolate enclosing an interior of runny caramel that has been dyed bile green. The candy bile exudes a sugary scent, running out from the open duct on one end of the gallbladder at any touch of its chocolate sac. Small chunks of hard, dark chocolate float about inside the sac as gallstones, barely visible from the opening of the bile duct.

Deep scars riddle the surface of this small candy femur, as though claws have torn into the bone itself. A few clinging filaments mar the curved ends of the candy, the remains of ligaments. Dried, syrupy blood fills the claw marks and congeals across the ligaments, giving the chalky surface of the candy a bit of colour.

Upon first glance, this eyeball seems to be the real thing, wrested from some unfortunate. Blood clings wetly to a few dangling filaments attached to the back, the remains of nerve tissue, while the front of the eye is bloodshot, the iris a dull blue. Closer inspection reveals that the fluids of the eye are surprisingly syrupy, obviously coated in liquid sugar. Though the eyeball is a bit squishy to the touch, one would have to eat it to determine whether it is a real eyeball or a clever confection

Smooth and four-lobed, the small chocolate is a perfect rendition of a humanoid liver, even down to the reddish brown hue of its smooth surface and the milk-chocolate blood vessels that run out from the liver's hip. The chocolate is mostly triangular in shape, with the right lobe much larger than the left lobe, the two separated by a chewy strand of taffy that serves as the round ligament of the liver. On the back of the chocolate, there is an ovoid indentation where the gallbladder would rest were the candy a real liver. A film of stiff green caramel covers it, exuding a sugary, mouthwatering scent.

A few stringy fibres cling to the stump of this severed middle finger, syrupy blood congealing and drying along the first knuckle. The squishy surface of the finger is coated in sugar, and a bone-like structure can be felt within. The glossy nail set at the end and the creases in the joints are particularly lifelike.

a grinning skull candy

This small skull is made of pressed sugar, formed into shape with great care for detail. The sunken cheekbones and carved teeth give it the eternal impression of grinning out at the world. A hint of syrupy blood and stringy filaments like flesh stuck between the individual teeth makes the skull seem gruesome indeed. Its eye sockets glitter with slick, shiny pieces of black candy, at contrast with the chalky surface of the rest of the skull.

Whether real or merely a confection, this ear looks like it has been recently severed from a head. The contours of the ear are coated in a layer of sugar, syrupy blood and bits of hanging flesh clinging to the severed side. Deep within the ear canal, some sort of waxy substance is visible. The ear itself is squishy to the touch.

Pressed sugar forms the contours of this small skeletal arm, carefully looped together with jellied ligaments so that the elbow and wrist joints twist and bend in a semblance of normalcy. The miniscule fingers upon the end of the arm are frozen in a clawing position, a hint of syrupy red blood congealed upon the fingertips.

a crimson chocolate heart

With the general size and shape of a clenched fist, the chocolate heart is a startling shade of crimson. Its surface has been carved in exquisite detail, from surface sulci that indicate individual chambers to the branching trail of coronary blood vessels that web the outside of the organ. At the top of the heart, the great vessels have been fashioned delicately out of soft white chocolate, the aorta and the pulmonary trunk spiralling against one another gracefully. A gaze down the great vessels show the arteries slick with sticky red caramel, the view ending at the shapely semi-lunar valves that close off the hollow interior of the chocolate heart.
