Also if Shaddus is going to be gone for a week, he should probably be replaced...
Rika2008-10-30 04:13:40
I think that was a joke, about the link to the Marvel site.
Shaddus2008-10-30 04:23:13
You know, I realize what Shiri meant, but damn, he's REALLY gunning for me, isn't he. ninja.gif

Thanks for the helpful modhint! blackeye.gif

I'm confused too. I take it that this has about the same state of canon as the UN game had.. But with the span of the Marvel series and all its spinoffs, I really don't know what to think.

At least we didn't lose Shaddus, though, or it would have be a three-person loss for the town in the first day/night cycle alone. Until our investigator gets solid scum information (I presume they haven't, or they would have spoken up; please don't do so otherwise!), I think we can work on the 3-scum, one SK (Galactus?) premise for now.
Rika2008-10-30 04:28:26
Modhint number two: This game is as canon as a mafia spinoff game can get, really. I.e you will not be seeing a supervillain like Mandarin being a good guy! smile.gif.
Daganev2008-10-30 05:01:25
Ok, if not Diamondais, then I guess that just leaves us the lurkers?

It seems like I misunderstood Daganev's original point about not using comics canon...which neither Dylara nor I did, mind, we REFRAINED from using comics canon (which was the problem.)

Actually, this line confuses me... can you explain it a bit better?

You thought silver surfer must be scum, because of galatixa.

What you should have been thinking was, what scum would be stupid enough to claim a mason pair, when as soon as one of them is investigated at night, you will lynch both of them?

He could have said his name was Sam and he was a mason with Shaddus. It really shouldn't have made a difference. Cause again, what scum would claim mason when they don't know who the investigator is yet?
Diamondais2008-10-30 05:27:38
I apologize if I appear to be lurking, I'm having a bit of a rough night right now and haven't been able to put thought to the game.
Dugan2008-10-30 05:36:10
Add me in the same boat as Diamondias. I had a real censor.gif up evening and I will post something in the morning when I wake up.

Sure. Basically, your second line is wrong. I thought A) Krin was lying about being Silver Surfer to save Shaddus, and just playing badly (also note last game where he didn't even bother roleclaiming as a mason at all), due to his refusal to give any details and the fact he was trying to get me to roleclaim for pressuring Shaddus over his bad logic, or cool.gif he was the silver surfer and that was a scum role because of galactus. That's not a complicated part of the canon or anything, it's like the main point of the silver surfer other than that he's silver and has a surfboard.

Then I DIDN'T use complicated canon knowledge to pair up Silver Surfer with the Invisible Woman like they said. I probably should have checked but their posting was just really bad.

I did this once with Dylara, and it worked pretty well actually. I didn't pick up an investigate at all, though I eventually got vigged when Shamarah put that piece together with an unrelated one beyond my control.
Also we know Krin plays badly from last game so it's not like it was out of the realms of possibility that he just incorrectly thought it was a good tactic. He's new at it anyways. Dugan had some pretty obvious scum tells from last game, that's how I was able to vig him.
Shiri2008-10-30 05:51:30
Oh, and yeah I recommend going for the lurkers. Who qualifies for that?

I apparently am bordering on lurker. mellow.gif

I don't really have anything too constructive to add to the conversation, unfortunately...
Arix2008-10-30 06:16:03
the bottom three seem to be the lurkiest
Arix2008-10-30 06:20:43
now, after examining posts, we have a random vote from Celina, a vote from furien on Myrkr because Myrkr killed her last game, and a poorly worded FoS from Ilyarin

In class right now, so I can't check the last dozen pages so exhaustively, but I recommend going for the lurker(s) who contributed the least to the discussion. Noola has a surprisingly low post count, though - for some reason, I thought she was being pretty active, but maybe that was just me recently reading the RL rants thread.

I'll check up on posts once I get home to a proper mouse and a charger, so I don't have to rely on my trackpoint to poke at things and have the lighting to the lowest setting to conserve battery power. Also, I should be paying attention to class, so.. Will post more substantial stuff later.
Diamondais2008-10-30 06:27:41
Ilyrin is in bed right now, so we probably couldn't expect anything from him for awhile yet.

Furien needs to speak up more.

And Celina is playing?
Esano2008-10-30 06:31:37
I'm also bordering(?) on lurkiness, but I'll try to avoid it.

The Surfer/Invisible Woman mason pair was a bit odd, although I can see in hindsight where it came from. I kept my vote on Shaddus because, simply, Krin's roleclaim (and Shaddus', although that came later) wasn't believable. Or it might be because I always have difficulty deciphering Krin's posts without automatically adding a whine to it. sad.gif

But the fact that we had a resser and a roleblocker means this is a high-powered game. Most of this seems to be countered by a chance to fail/succeed. Hopefully, the scum is affected by similar limitations - and after we get one of them, we'll know roughly how likely they are to hit.
Casilu2008-10-30 06:34:22
Celina is playing?

Vote: Celina

News to me.

Also, am I the only one who feels OP this game?
Arix2008-10-30 06:37:23
when you're so quiet people don't even know you're playing, that's bad.

VOTE CELINA
