Actually what celina did makes perfect sense. I've done it in a few games myself.
She insinuated that she was a doctor, so that the scum would target her, and her avoidance would cause them to waste a night action.
The point is, she wanted the scum to target her.

Ah, alright, I get what she was doing now. I was working so much from the angle that she didn't want anyone to lynch/target her that seeing it that way completely slipped my mind.

I feel quite comfortable with Celina's role now, though at the start of her defence I wasn't, it seems like the conversation has mostly run its course while I was away and the outcome seems pretty okay.
