Which was what I was thinking, too - just because Shaddus/Krin turns up town doesn't mean that the other one isn't scum. It's looking like some form of town-scum or scum-scum pairing right now, and Krin isn't helping Shaddus' case at all.
Shaddus had better give a good claim when he gets back.

This is one of those, "Mod, I'm going to beat you, for giving me this role. " moments.
I am the Invisible Woman. I can Mason with Krin (Silver Surfer).

And no, I don't understand that pairing either.
Shiri2008-10-28 11:05:55
That makes so little sense that I'm just going to have to recommend we kill one of you anyway. We aren't at all likely to find anything more suspicious than that on day 1 and at least it verifies the other if one of you turns out to have been telling the truth.
On the off-chance that the Galactus/Silver Surfer thing really is a town/scum pairing I suggest Shaddus.

That's fine. I have an 80% chance to dodge a lynch/NK as the Invisible Woman. So, lynch away, and let's hope it isn't that other 20%.
UNVOTE:SHIRI.
I guess I forgot to bold it.
Noola2008-10-28 13:35:43
Well, I'm going to Unvote my random vote after all those postings last night. However, I'm going to hold my vote because I don't understand why we're voting for Shaddus here when Krin seems like the way more suspicious one and has the 'bad guy' character role. The Invisible Woman wasn't ever a bad guy, was she? And Krin seemed to be trying to dig Shaddus in deeper with all that too.

We're voting for Shaddus over Krin because A), he's quite possibly lying about the invisible woman as that makes no sense, meaning that if he's the obvious answer Galactus (which would explain Krin's refusal to answer us), and shifting the bandwagon over is harder than just finishing Shaddus over, though if the rest of it moves I'll switch too for obvious reasons as I'm not bothered which we off.
Diamondais2008-10-28 13:57:44
That's a weird role pairing even if it isn't true, you guys have to realize just how unbelievable that is. (Of course, it does fall into do we believe it because of precedent like Cuba owning Nukes and not being Communist? )
It seems safer to vote for him right now; Unvote, Vote: Shaddus.
Hopefully this is safe.
Unknown2008-10-28 14:22:50
Vote count?
Diamondais2008-10-28 14:24:54
I think that would put him at 8/9.
Unknown2008-10-28 14:25:41
To explain my not outing Shaddus well, I thought he might be our investigator being invisible and all. I didn't get to speak to him before so I couldn't confirm

Wouldn't someone with telepathic powers make more sense as an investigator than someone who's invisible?
Anyway, Shiri makes sense, so vote Shaddus. I hope you're scum! I'm still really suspicious of Krin though.
Daganev2008-10-28 16:36:40
If either Shaddus or Krin is town, I suggest lynching Shiri... his logic is terrible.
I would never expect someone to come out and say the name of thier partner. Its just not nice, especialy if the other partner doesn't give consent. Xenthos did the same thing in one game with shadow I think.
It was stupid of Krin to say what he said... but the insistence from Shiri to just lock on and lynch them, and then trying to argue, that we have to lynch both anyways, is just really scummy in my mind.
I think Shiri knows this, and if he turns out to be wrong, then we need to lynch him. If he turns out to be right, then kudos!

Disagree. The logic isn't terrible at all. There is no real reason to keep your mason partner hidden if that's your claim. Xenthos would have except Aesyra told him not to (not for a good reason though.) It leads to having two confirmed townies instead of 1.
I think lynching Shaddus or Krin is the right move because not only is the refusal to name his partner suspicious, plus the original poor reasoning that had me voting Shaddus in the first place, but the actual claim is kind of implausible too. My role fits my character more or less. Silver Surfer + Invisible Woman, so far as I know, does not fit, as Shaddus seems to admit.

well, thats easy to find out: why not just google it?
This is why I'm saying that we shouldn't rely on our own knowledge of canon to know if someon's claim is reliable or not.... because we get stuck in a mess like this.

If you remember in the movie, the invisible woman is the one who is able to convince the silver surfer not to destroy the world.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007 film)
In Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Sue Storm's wedding to Mister Fantastic is interrupted by the arrival of the Silver Surfer. Sue reminds the Silver Surfer of the woman he loved back on his homeworld. This association, and the friendship with Sue which follows, leads the Surfer to turn against his master, Galactus.

Its like you say: Ok, I agree, we shouldn't use our knowledge of canon to figure out if people are telling the truth or not, and then you turn around and say, hmm what he said doesn't match my knowledge of the canon! He must be scum... lynch him!
But then all you have to do is search the internet, and you find out that infact... silver surfer and the invisible woman DO have a connection with each other.
What we should have done, is just move on to a new possible person to lynch, and let the investigator investigate either shaddus or krin (either one would be fine) and if it turned up that they were mafia, we could lynch both of them. But now we wastefully kill of town (If we are wrong) and gain nothing for the next day. We could of had a block of two known townies to follow, or we would know our lynch target for the next two days... but now, now we don't have much to go on.

Why are you still talking? Isn't it night now? And hi! Sorry for missing today. I had to take my brother to the airport at 03:30 so I ended up sleeping through until about 17:00
Rika2008-10-28 19:00:17
Oh hey, that's a lynch.
Rika2008-10-28 19:12:37
Paranoia instantly overcomes the group of sixteen. Those who were once friends began to doubt each other. Fingers were immediately pointed, with no reason, at first. Soon, the attention of the group came upon Shaddus, who lashed out at Shiri for a small mistake. As more and more agreed with Shiri's suspicions of Shaddus. However, Krin soon spoke up, claiming Shaddus was not a Master of Evil. Confused, the group pushed him for further information. Reluctantly, Krin revealed he was the Silver Surfer and had a bond with Shaddus, whose identity he would not reveal. Skeptical, the group waited for Shaddus' reply. As dusk approached, he claimed to be the Invisible Woman. Disbelieving him and Krin, they decided to go through with lynching Shaddus, the last vote being made by Noola. It seemed the fate of Shaddus was sealed... until he disappeared...
It is now NIGHT ONE. Please send me your night choices. If you have a night action but choose not to use it, please let me know also.
As a note for the future, if a lynch has been made with me not being around, you can preemptively send me your night actions.

Correct me if I'm wrong ( Sorry, mod, if this is incorrect). But didn't Rika say light bantering and chat was acceptable during night?
