"thunderbird192306" a velvet black thunderbird

The thunderbird is as large as a giant eagle, with head feathers that spread
around her neck like a mane and tail feathers that flare out behind her. Her
wingspan is twice as long as the length of her body, the feathers of which are
grey, leathery and surrounded by emerald lightning. With each beat of her
wings, the sound of a small thunderclap echoes around her. She preens and
cleans her feathers with a long curved beak, amethyst eyes alight with a
magnificent intellect. She is called 'Dhanae.'
A velvet black thunderbird looks to be crushingly strong.
She is strangely weightless.
Her feedbag is brimming with food and she is looking well-fed.
She is loyal to Sky Runner Shyshaeia.

Bad newbie. First post is a bit of a necro. But I'm in love with this thunderbird.

Surrounded by scintillating lightning, a silver thunderbird spreads his black, leathery wings here, golden eyes glowing with a noble intellect.

QUOTE
a lordly hippogriff with wings of pallid lackluster feathers

Possessed of rare and unnatural animal mixtures, the noble hippogriff is a beast born from the breeding of chimaera and pegasus. Long forgotten and unseen in the Basin of Life, the hippogriff is a fearsome, yet beautiful sight to behold. A powerful equine frame builds the bulk of the hippogriff's muscular body. Lean legs stretch down into hooves from the beast's hindquarters, and massive, clawed feline paws make up the forelimbs. The hippogriff's head is distinctly horse-like in shape and size, though the mouth has been replaced by a hooked, dark grey beak. Feathers form a flowing dark grey mane that runs over the top of the creature's head then down the back of her neck and shoulders to cover a pair of powerfully built wings of pallid lackluster feathers that have grown from the shoulders. Long, flowing feathers replace the traditional tail of the hippogriff's equine heritage, coloured in various shades of dark grey. She is called 'Immunet.'
A lordly hippogriff with wings of pallid lackluster feathers is not one to be trifled with.
She weighs about 1062 pounds.
Her feedbag is brimming with food and she is looking well-fed.
She is loyal to Pectus Dawneye, Whisper of the Wyrd.

Totally forgot to rave about my beastie too!

She went from:

a gnarled crimson spider with a glistening stinger

to:

a black widow spider with a red-tipped stinger

My pride and joy:

The female dragon turtle is huge and the wide shell is patterned in shades of
jade hexagons. Having an extremely short neck, the round head is protected by
rows of sharp ridges, especially thick around the face, and she has a spiky
tail. The legs have large claws, capable of tearing through the flesh of the
largest sea beast. For all the trappings of ferocity, the dragon turtle is a
majestic and noble creature, whose azure eyes are filled with a deep wisdom. She
is called 'Auralian.'

...I wonder... would zimoru work on her?

Getting a colt and a wyvern when I have the money.

Heee!

Edit: Forgot to mention, turtle fed on meat in youth, now fish/veg.

The prettiest horse in all of the Basin!

This huge stallion is a strong, powerful creature, and his well-defined muscles gleam beneath a brown coat. His mane is slightly tangled from his wild runs, and his tail swishes incessantly as his black eyes flash dangerously. He lets out an occasional snort as he paws at the ground, throwing his head back with inherent nobility, and his body is graced with a braided tail.

Are you calling him fat?!
Don't remember. Just threw in a lot of stuff and reagents. Think I mainly fed him the food that prepared him for mindoru.

Not calling him fat. It's just Auralian turned out jade and I didn't really want a jade turtle, but I can deal.

You administer a dose of zimoru reagent to your pony. A golden glow surrounds her which shimmers and you watch in amazement as she transforms into a black spotted, lazy pony with bat wings.

Complete with a black spotted coat, this small pony is lazy. She has bat wings, and her mane cascades down the backside of her neck. Her large eyes resemble light brown pools. She is called 'Prow.'

Were you going for a fat, lazy pony?

If so, you just won the game.

And... the obligatory I just lost the game.

Horse finally matured. I'm really happy with the results, and probably won't zimoru him. Then again, he is brown... but meh:

This dainty stallion is a strong, powerful creature, and his well-defined
muscles gleam beneath a brown coat. His mane is slightly tangled from his wild
runs, and his tail swishes incessantly as his pale blue eyes blink slowly. He
lets out an occasional snort as he paws at the ground, throwing his head back

After raising (and re-raising) many pets, I think I've figured the custom appearance thing out...

Whether or not your beast looks 'cool' or plain (e.g. brown and dull) depends on how MUCH you feed it. And it can go 1 of 2 ways: big and scary, or dainty and pretty. The former will come about from lots of meat-based feeds (meat, eggs, and fish) while the latter is from the vegetarian diet (oat, veg, and fruit).

What I don't know is what the threshold required for going from plain to cool is, and what a beast would look like if it was fed an equal diet of meat and veg. But other than that, I think that's how it works.

Maybe this is old news, since I took a long break, but it's been working well for me! Unless anyone has evidence to suggest otherwise?

I'm working on a group of five ponies right now, so we'll see how they turn out once they mature (assuming they are not bugged when they mature, as the year skipping has placed them at 3 years old now.)
