That is a strange problem.

I've been sick and injured, so haven't been able to feed it as much as I like. This is evidenced by the bleh wings and meh adjective. But this is what an all fruit diet did for my current-soon-to-be-deceased thunderbird:

The thunderbird is as large as a giant eagle, with head feathers that spread around her neck like a mane and tail feathers that flare out behind her. Her broad, leathery wings are twice as long as the length of her body tip-to-tip and surrounded by forks of scintillating lightning. With each beat of her wings, the sound of a small thunderclap echoes around her. She preens and cleans her dark emerald feathers with a long curved beak, violet eyes alight with a magnificent intellect.

Traits: dark emerald (adjective), broad, leathery wings (wings), violet eyes alight with a magnificent intellect (eyes), surrounded by forks of scintillating lightning (unique).

Admitedly, you need OpenOffice Calc (free!) or Microsoft Excel (or Excel Viewer) to view. And there aren't very many beasts in there yet, and I am severely limited in getting beasts, since most villages are in Glomdiguch control. But I am doing what I can, and I'll probably sell the beasts I've raised at bought+5k value when I'm done raising them.

Started out with a young pony with a braided tail, which matured just now.

Got a striped, snobby pony with a silky tail. Used a roughly 2:1 ratio of oatfeed and eggfeed until I had my training points completed then did an even mix of oatfeed and eggfeed afterwards until it matured.

Why are my beasts so dark? My thunderbird is bloodstone and black lightning.

Fifteen reagents administered for a 300 meat fed phoenix, I feel that I probably got most (if not all) data for a meat fed snow phoenix. Green and black are their predominant colours.

What I wouldn't give for a dingbat/credit artifact that gave you unlimmited zimoru uses. It'd be so much easier for my research @_@ I didn't notice rainbow eyes when I did tri-veg/tri-carnivore diets, so I wonder if it's just a meat diet thing.

I did notice that beasts (across a broad range of species) fed on meat develop black hides/feathers.

Yeah, meat trends towards "dark" or "tough" looks, while fruity diets tend to get you the sparkly colorful ones. Requesting that there is a middle ground. Beautiful, sleek, black beasts pls.

Experimental thunderbird #2 fed on 200 eggs:

The thunderbird is as large as a giant eagle, with head feathers that spread around her neck like a mane and tail feathers that flare out behind her. Her black, leathery wings are twice as long as the length of her body tip-to-tip and surrounded by forks of scintillating lightning. With each beat of her wings, the sound of a small thunderclap echoes around her. She preens and cleans her silver feathers with a long curved beak, emerald eyes glinting with a dangerously sharp intellect.

I accidentally went one over with this wyvern experimentation, so 11 results from a 100 eggs/fish/meat diet. Only wing types are bat and skeletal with some variation in their appearance. Eyes are really random, but focused on blue and green colours, while fangs show up more than tail in unique traits:

- a colossal wyvern with carnelian bat wings (eyes: effulgent green eyes, unique: black fangs)
- a colossal wyvern with sable bat wings (eyes: electric blue eyes, unique: razor sharp fang)
- a gargantuan wyvern with skeletal wings (eyes: fern green eyes, unique: rows of needle-like fangs)
- a hulking wyvern with bat wings (eyes: steel blue eyes, unique: lashes his razor edged tail dangerously)
- a muscular wyvern with bat wings (eyes: starry green eyes, unique: lashes his spiked iron tail dangerously)
- a muscular wyvern with scarred bat wings (eyes: effulgent green eyes, unique: rows of needle-like fangs)
- a muscular wyvern with skeletal wings (eyes: starry blue eyes, unique: blood flecked fangs)

a weird, grey crow

The crow is weird, an enormous bird with grey feathers and beak. One eye has been scooped out, leaving a dark, empty socket, forcing the crow to constantly cock his head towards whatever catches his interest. The crow caws a series of high-pitched notes that set your teeth on edge. Larger than a dog, his wings have a span of over eight feet. A weird, grey crow looks to be crushingly strong.

He just aged up. What's interesting, is that at around 6 months of age, while still "a young, giant crow", he began emoting ambient messages about his "one malevolent eye". It's as though his appearance was already decided at the half way point.

I want to make a Blacktalon Druid so bad, and I'd totally take that crow off your hands, Naia, if you'd sell it. I wish I had the time.

I'm not sure guild pets can be transferred at all, even between guild members.

Well that sucks, I had no idea. I'll probably never get to make a Blacktalon anyway. :cry:

Massive soft, crimson-streaked wings filling much of the space around her, a giant midnight hippogriff stands here, eyeing her surroundings serenely.

Possessed of rare and unnatural animal mixtures, the noble hippogriff is a beast born from the breeding of chimaera and pegasus. Long forgotten and unseen in the Basin of Life, the hippogriff is a fearsome, yet beautiful sight to behold. A powerful equine frame builds the bulk of the hippogriff's muscular body. Lean legs stretch down into hooves from the beast's hindquarters, and massive, clawed feline paws make up the forelimbs. The hippogriff's head is distinctly horse-like in shape and size, though the mouth has been replaced by a hooked, ice blue beak. Feathers form a flowing ice blue mane that runs over the top of the creature's head then down the back of her neck and shoulders to cover a pair of powerfully built soft, crimson-streaked wings that have grown from the shoulders. Long, flowing feathers replace the traditional tail of the hippogriff's equine heritage, coloured in various shades of ice blue.

Yesh? No? Should I keep zimoru-ing? >_>

I would stop personally just for how awesome those wings are, but it depends if you achieved the look you were hoping for.
