Or, like.. have a targeting system... and like...don't target monks with your attack targeting...make a targetting system seperate for influencing
Shurimaru2008-11-03 18:58:29
Definitely the better idea.

Well, having discovered that kephera are very easy to bash (lv77 now), I'm just wondering, could someone tell me where I can take their corpses? I heard they're good gold if you know who to bring them to, so yeah... That'd be nice.

Bottom of the Illithoid Prison, near the reservoir. Cyratalegur.

Okay, update! Where to bash post-80?
I realize exp will never be as great as it was under 75, that's quite clear, but I'd really like to know where the good bashing (not gold) is for post-80 people, except Astral. Oh and, where are these quinotaurs everybody likes to mention?
Hope I'm not too much of a bother with all this.
EDIT: And oh, one more thing. Willpower loss. It's really huge. :/ Three aslaran-krokani-naga gold loops and it's all gone. Should I just get more Discipline or is there some useful trick I could use?

Could try gorgogs?
Diamondais2008-11-20 16:38:24
UV!
Eamon2008-11-20 16:47:07
Yeah, you'll want to start hitting the undervault soon. The tunnels are nearly unlimited, non-enemy-territory bashing. You can avoid the aggressive ones to start with a bit of squinting (cave fishers, adoraths, mantekarrs, and sometimes centipedes and krakens).
The quinotaurs are on the very bottom level of the Inner Sea. Go into the middle of the sea and go down as much as you can (not diving, just moving down).
You can regain willpower faster in a rocking chair, or at a campfire, if you have access to either of those. A knowledge karma blessing will boost your total willpower, so it'll mitigate the burnout to some extent (and add a little to your bashing, if you're a bard or caster). Burnout will still happen if you bash constantly. I like to find a spot to influence when my willpower's low - influencing doesn't use wp. That lets you regain wp for your next go-round while still gaining xp/gold.
Good luck!

I love you.
Anyway, thanks for the great and plentiful advice, everyone! I'll put it all to good use. In the meantime, you remember those times when you were influencing Tosha, and earned like 20%, only to accidentally use your "M2" alias instead of "BEG2" in a room with 8 monks who then proceed to rape you and take away that 20%?
Remember having it happen twice in one day, in the same room, with the same amount of monks?
Coincidence? *ponder*

Bit late to reply to this, but if you have your bashing and influence settings in different classes and just disable one when you turn on the other, this isn't really...ever...a problem.

Thanks, everyone! I'll try gorgogs, though I hear their super-attack can be quite dangerous, but why not. And I've been planning to start doing UV tunnels - did a run with a friend, there don't seem to be any nasty non-aggro creatures (or nasty afflictions).
Again, thanks for all the input!

Discipline helps a lot with WP regeneration. At trans you should have (almost) no issues anymore. Unless you bash something that requires mass clotting for quite a while (read: astral virgins for example).

Oo, that sounds really nice. I guess I'm going to learn Discipline first then, Resilience can wait at Fabled for a while. Willpower loss is giving me more grief than health loss, heh.
By the way, I don't suppose quinotaurs can be turned in for gold? That'd be too good to be true.

I've been trans discipline for some time now and as a bard bashing (Don't know what Brahms is, didn't read) my willpower still runs out... That was when I killed kephera and I guess they make you bleed somewhat... Who knows.

Meh. I'm a bard too (Hadrian). Oh well, there's always heartstop. Dying restores all willpower.

But dying costs experience unless you've got the Lesser Blessing of Harmony, right?

Probably less than he gains from a full pool of willpower spent on bashing. He can further reduce it if he gets someone else to kill him where he'll conglut (inside Serenwilde). IIRC, heartstop costs twice the exp of a vitae.
Vashner2008-11-27 02:05:19
That is true, but why not just use the time regenerating for something like writing a book or just talking to people? It's a good way to develop your character further rather than just bashing mindlessly until you get Demigod. Of course, when you're at 99 it makes sense to start bashing mindlessly...
Unknown2008-11-27 11:38:43
Yeeeah, I was just joking... I'm not really a powerbasher, dying to restore willpower sounds pretty radical to me. Thanks for all the thoughts and advice though!

I bashed Undervault from like 70 to 100 as a warrior. I bashed spectres and people from new char to 85 as bard in 2-3 weeks. Could also do kephera but people were much better exp.
Edit: Could also add in Ethereal Catacombs to your bashing. Good exp and gold.
