What do you mean by Undervault, exactly? From what I can tell, bashing tunnels doesn't really pay off, since you need to cross like 7 rooms to find one, maybe two critters, who generally don't give good exp at all. Kephera only pay off if you can tank a lot of them at once (which I guess warriors can, heh).

And um, what "people"? Never heard of them.

Also, I don't know about Ethereal Catacombs, I've had bad experiences with them. The creatures up there group pretty nastily. But I guess I could try. (Er, how do you enter them? I forget.)

I got 81 a few minutes ago, just doing Tosha and Arthar'rt influencing and quinotaurs (which are really good, good exp and lots of them grouped in a small area), and the occasional aslaran/krokani for gold. Need some variety! Will try new stuff tomorrow.

The Undervault Tunnels are totally worth it. The creatures there tend to be worth more experience than illithoid or kephera, just not as good for gold. You've also got a near inexhaustable source of mobs since it's so large.

The undervault tunnels are worth it. You kill more things than you think you would.

They are as good as everyone says. The moving around is really not a problem when you consider it in proportion to the amount of XP you're getting. It hardly takes long to type directions

Tunnel creatures such as mantekarr, cavefisher, the little kephera running around in the tunnels, adoraths are fun, kraken if you are feeling ballsy. On my bard I only bashed about 2-3 kephera groups and did fine at low 80's. "People" as in PK.. Great experience up until like lv 90.

Edit: For catacombs, just squint or glance around before moving. Use reflections (have Glamours?) to avoid hits and break the groups apart or wait them out. Garghasts will track you so if there is a garwight and ghast in the room, reflect, walk in, let ghast hit, then move away to a safer room and kill the ghast. Rinse and repeat where required.

Oh, I was thinking about the other half of the tunnels. ' Rockeaters, centipedes, spidions (?), solifugids and the likes. I know fishers and co. are great. I just can't realistically handle them yet, heh. Or can I?

Also, do you guys use Healing Scroll while hunting? It always seemed like a combat-only thing to me, but I see all these people handling things I know I couldn't with just sipping, so I was wondering...

You can always hit and run if you think you can't tank them in one go.

Also, healing scrolls and sparkleberries help too. Not a lot, but it's always good to have a little more than health elixirs.

You'd actually be surprised. It doesn't seem much as you're bashing but after an hour or so, it's worth it.

I don't ever use sparkle/scroll while bashing. Though if anything I'd say carry a scroll and cube on you or a couple of scrolls. As a bard if you are glamours, you can just reflect bash. Hit a few times, get low on health: reflect/sip up

Mage reflections also work, but I think Illusory Self is much better. I find the tunnels particularly slow for me, but that's probably because I keep getting the big critical hits towards the end. I'm just very unlucky that way.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but I think you give UV waaay too much credit. Yeah, it gives much experience... After, like, three or so hours of bashing. It's probably just me being lazy, but there are other, less rewarding places which you can clear out in 45 minutes. I guess UV wasn't made for lazy people.

Anyways, I'm wondering if there are any good group-hunting (well, two-person hunting, actually) places, except Astral. And, about Astral, is it as good as I think it is? I mean, these recent announces made me believe it's an awesome place, so I was just wondering.

Undervault is good. I bashed it to Demigod. Good gold and fairly decent experience. Now given the gold was much better when I frequented it (60k+ a trip with quest+bashing), it is still fairly good these days (30k+ for clearing hives and quest). I used to clear all the hives in about 1:30ish which really isn't all that bad but I also had a crit rune. You are right, however, in saying it's not for lazy people because it does require a lot of moving around though well worth it.



Astral, in my opinion, isn't really worth the hassle unless you have a circlet of lucidity or you can clear mobs fast. The kill/insanity gain which makes for some downtime depending on how long you stay, isn't worth the trouble unless you are in a group. Which now, given the upgrade to Astral, I'm not sure how worth it it would be. My bashing regime mainly consisted of Undervault, clear it, go to Astral for about an hour for kephera to respawn and back to the UV.
