Tainted Broadcast Center

Right, well. Since the quest is, and I'm sure this was not intended upon it's creation, biased towards Magnagora and Glomdoring for IC reasons, I was wondering if the administration would simply be willing to create two sides to this quest.

Currently, all of the organizations rely upon Globglob and Norchatine to be raised to be able to keep bards and scholars in their favour. The issue with is, obviously, that Globglob is undead and the mere fact that the Broadcast Center has the word "Tainted" in it's title. Suffice to say, I was wondering if it would be possible (since the Stryder kids know how to break satellites), if they could hijack the signal from Globglob and Norchatine and do a pirate radio aether in favour of Celest and Serenwilde. This would allow Celest and Serenwilde to be able to do the quest without fear of breaking IC boundaries and not make them so in favour of Magnagora and Glomdoring.

Input on the above would be appreciated.

Delete the place, period.

The fact that Avenger protects everyone there means that you can't defend Ildi to get a kid without declaring. The opposing faction does not have to declare to kill Ildi.

You have to declare to protect the kid from being killed. The opposing faction does not have to declare to defend the kid from being one shot killed.

So the faction that sets up the center, just walks in and kills Ildi every hour. Should the opposing faction get a kid from Ildi for whatever reason, then the faction who set up the center walks in and kills the kid, stating the cycle over and over.

Either remove avenger protection in the TBC or delete the TBC quests.

I'm not in favour of just deleting the place. It would make no sense ICly wise. Besides the fact that I do think it's a good area despite all the annoying ties that come with it.

However, as for Avenger protection, I would be in favour of that. Have Globglob and the Stryders be their own organization, and that would also solve the issue.

Obviously me saying delete the place is me being facetious.

Though deleting the quests and starting over with something that makes some actual sense is serious.

Hard to be facetious over the forums where there is no way of detecting body language. tongue.gif

No, let's not have Globglob enemy. That would just make it harder for people to kill him. However, having the Strykers enemy would be a fantastic idea.
Desitrus2008-10-31 20:02:03
Make it off-plane or simply remove Avechna protection from the zone.

Pirate radio sounds sexy.

I still give a big emo sigh every time Globglob comes up.
Rika2008-10-31 20:07:57
Wait, what? How is making it possible to kill people trying to take Globglob down going to solve the problem? Ok, you may stop them from raising him a few times, but if they ever manage it (when most people are sleeping, for example), you're going to be in trouble.

I said pirate radio, make it work for both sides and make it PK frenzy. As long as the option exists for everyone, who cares?
Aison2008-10-31 20:15:53
It would be nice if it were on more even terms. Especially if there were a counter quest with an honors line.

Otherwise I'm in agreement with Desitrus. Or at least have Strykers enemy.
Unknown2008-10-31 20:22:02
Why not just make the -effects- less pronounced? Like all the bards and scholars spout Taint propaganda when you greet them, but they still follow you (just reluctantly). Ta-da.

Yeah, that lack of an honours line from stopping the TBC is causing a lot of balance issues.

Careful.

They may end up doing this, just because you 'agreed'. happy.gif

I was actually talking about someone today about this kinda thing, they were explaining the quest to me and what it meant and why Celest cries 'unfair'. I think it makes sense for the pirate radio, but I do think Globglob should enemy and whatever counterpart he has should enemy to. PK Centre sounds fun, but then again, it would just be a frenzied mess of people always trying to keep it up in their favor to the point that everyone says 'forget it' and rather null it and leave it to no one than do it.
Ilyarin2008-11-01 15:20:11
People in Lusternia don't say, "forget it", Romero. They instead believe that if something works positively in their favour, they're being forced into doing it, and then it becomes a conflict quest and everyone cries! What a dilemma. You've so much to learn about how Lusternian players skew every little thing until it becomes a horrible mess, which the admin forced down their throats and choked them on. biggrin.gif
Rika2008-11-01 20:00:34
Except in the case of the TBC, it is actually forced, as for one side, it is all negatives and no positives.

For quests where your org can get an advantage over other orgs by doing the quest, in order to stay competitive you have to either get the same benifet for your org or take out the other org's benifet. If one side has all the bards/scholars and everyone else has 0, then the side with them gets the culture award and lots of power, thus putting them that much ahead of all the other orgs in raising ascendents for fighting the other side.

In practice, though, this doesn't work for the TBC as Celest/Seren have most of the villages and most of the domoths and get more power income than the other two orgs.
Celina2008-11-01 23:04:40
Pretty sure the Admin have dubbed the TBC not biased against Seren. I don't know why Serens keep harping on the misconception that it is.

because admins are inconsistent and use their characters to punish those serens that do it.
