It was a few months ago, over the summer. I don't think he ever talked to Shaddus and I don't even remember his name.

Huh. I've never heard anything about NMBG or GBTG being required or even encouraged, really.
Huh, weird. I was always under the impression otherwise. But then, I've only been a Glommie since this March.

Down with alts. I wish they never existed. People can't separate characters.

I can and do. Maybe you have difficulty, but that doesn't mean everyone does. And certainly there are some fools who also do things like log off their alt to log into their main during events, but that doesn't mean that everyone is a tool like that.
I have never, ever, ever, EVER taken info gained from being logged into one character and used it to affect the outcome of anything to do with another character. Raids, Revolts, Events, whatever. I play whatever character I'm logged in as if it is the only character I have at the moment. Now, I'm not saying that to brag or anything, merely to point out that not everyone is as inept as you're making them out to be. Cause I know I can't be the only person able to keep my characters straight.

There isn't any law stating everyone has to spam GBTG. However there is a scroll saying = Lady Viravain taught us to spam GBTG, so we shall spam GBTG. That is all.

No, the scroll says "If you want to do greetings / respond to greetings, this is the proper way to do it." Along with why.
Shaddus2008-11-13 02:12:39
I don't log off for events. In fact, there has been times I've woke up on an alt, and many of Shaddus' friends are raiding, but I go defend.
Nadjia2008-11-13 04:17:14
I have never had an alt. Even when I was in Achaea. I just don't feel like wasting more time above and beyond what I do with Nadjia
or money.

Wrong.
I clearly remember you making me say that on CT when I made a little Ebonguard (ages ago) cause I wanted to try the skills. I was like "wtf is he serious?... I hate that stuff... but damn no choice...".

I don't even read news on my alts. Not that I have "alts" I have alt, that I play on occasion, but like I said I don't even read news. It is far to easy to carry information from one character to another, meaning to do so or not. This doesn't mean alts are bad.

No... That was the "introduction to speaking to the Commune" (this is how you do it, go ahead and say hello in the proper way). Did I ever tell you that you had to do it every time you logged on, or tell you that you had to respond every time? (Did I even tell you the 'proper response' without your asking about it? This is actually a serious question-- I don't remember ever doing so without a novice inquiring, but I'm curious if I did in your case-- otherwise, where did you get the impression it was required?)
No.
Because I never have myself-- it's a great thing for people who want to do it, but if you don't want to... just ignore it.

Requiring it as "introduction to the Commune" or "appeasing Brennan" or "sexing Rowena up" is still requiring it.
And yeah you told me to. It was in some novice scroll. (Ages ago as I said. I hope it's changed since then.). I don't like calling attention to my alts because (mostly) they don't last long. I just make them, do Newton, check out some novice skills, how the class feels etc.. I doubt I ever asked how to properly greet the commune or anything along those lines.
PS: If there was a way to check out skills without being in the guild I'd do that.

Some people can. Far more people think they can, but can't really. And quite a few people can't separate their characters from themselves, even if they only have one character. Getting rid of alts wouldn't make a dent in the amount of failure-to-firewall in a game like this; it's taking a pebble from an avalanche. You just have to learn to work around it.

I'd put my shadow in her cauldron.
Moving on...
I consider myself as someone who's good with alts. I make myself forget everything I know about lusternia before I type in OUT after the tutorial. I even make myself do stupid things like CGT SAY Hello?
My cover's usually blown when I breeze through the collegium, though.

On the old pk mud I used to play it had dark/light side, separated by area and speech. No physical game mechanic enforced it, but if you switched sides without letting 30 minutes pass you got tempban, then permaban. Just based on IP. Goes without saying even if you could prove two people in the same place you couldn't play both sides at once.
Man that's a good idea. Maybe it'll stop all the metagamers that hop onto their Seren alts when something bad happens to Glom like a raid (Or when a village goes into play. I've seen this personally and I know people do this.)

A magnagoran player accusing others of metagaming. That's pretty rich.

The PLAYER isn't Magnagoran, you know. And yeah, Thoros specifically mentioned Seren when talking about metagaming, but it wasn't really a slight on the Seren. It happens in all the orgs. It doesn't not happen in the Seren anymore than it doesn't not happen in Magnagora or Celest or Glomdoring.
You did prove what Gwylifar said about some folks not being able to separate themselves (and others <-- my addition) from their character.
I think that's way more of an issue than alts, honestly. Even though folks who do log off their alt to log into their main during raids/revolts/whatever do indeed need a thousand papercuts between each toe.
