Parents can have their kids taken away from them if they're abusing them.

While I agree in principle ya can't do that. We'd be Nazis. Al la The Lebensborn.
Pro Tip for everyone: Don't be Nazis.
Pro Tip for everyone: Don't be Nazis.
...I know that can't be done. That doesn't mean that most of the abusive, drug-addicted, alcoholic dregs of society who let their children go without food, education, or even a decent bath in addition to the hellish physical, emotional, and sexual torments heaped upon them shouldn't be promptly sterilized. (And, no, I'm not talking in generalities. I can think of very specific examples, even here in my small corner of the world.)
My point, claims of Nazism and fascism aside, was simply that I don't believe homosexuality or heterosexuality has anything to do with a couple's ability to raise their children (adopted or biological) well and with love.

I was creatively invoking Godwin's law.

Are you fighting for the right or the word?
I want equality, but I also realise that as long as you use different words there is the possibility for some new law or right to be drawn up that includes one and not the other.
Hence the civil union planner

what's amazing is it almost took 30 pages for godwin's law to be invoked. That is an accomplishment.

Wow...I thought Godwin's Law was something completely different...

Well, the lesson I got from prop 8 results, is that the gay community doesn't care for equal rights, and certainly is very unhappy with the availability of domestic parternships in california, because they believe that they now have less rights than chickens. (I never knew that gay people were allowed to be confined to cages that gave them no room to turn around or flap thier arms). What the gay community wants is to demand to the rest of society what is and what isn't the foundation of the family unit. Democratic process be damned.
The idea that one can't seperate bad living conditions, and economic disparity with the right to use the word "marriage" instead of "commitment" infront of of the word "ceremony" makes me feel like we are dealing with a community of teenagers, not a community of people who are looking out for justice, morality, or society.
Apparently, gay people feel like this every day:
and seem to forget the fact that they get to do this whenever they want:
Incase you have no idea what I'm talking about:

I'm sure jealous that I don't look that good in a Speedo.
Yrael2008-11-10 04:15:54
I wouldn't mind being able to walk down the street in a speedo and have a legitimate reason to act like hard gay.
And Daganev, they get to do that because they've punched out of 50% of the discrimination, and were happy. Noone has had the heart to tell them yet that it just looks bloody stupid. There is, however, still more than a bit of it around.

Someone should try to get a bill passed so women have the option to walk around topless, like men can...
I'd totally vote PRO on that bill.

It's legal in one city already.
