If you book a long ways in advance, sure. And if you don't have to worry about dropping your campaign cold for two days, and trying to minimize as much of the end-time (outside of the trip) as possible.

I still find you claiming that a trip to visit his dying grandmother one last time was 'dumb' to be... well...

In 45 seconds, I found flights leaving from baltimore to honolulu for under $1000, leaving saturday.

Again, of course he should visit his dying grandmother. He shouldn't use $400k of campaign funds to do it. I don't understand why people can't grasp that, especially those that criticize Palin for her dress, which costs less then half that much, and is going to a good cause after its use.

Are you so positive that everything is based on just the flight?

"a Boeing 757 costs about $20,000 an hour for fuel, crew, and maintenance. Since a trip to Hawaii entails 10 hours of flying time from Chicago, the total cost for each round-trip comes to about $400,000."

I find it odd that Palin's dress and Obama's plane are the hottest topics tonight. huh.gif

Booo, never have I been so disappointed in America. Ugh.

Obama is over the 270 mark, seems to be waiting for the votes to be completely compiled for the popular vote.

An American can clarify.
Xenthos2008-11-05 04:11:24
Obama's shattered 270, moving up into the 300+s.
Noola2008-11-05 04:12:23
Yeah, Obama got the entire west coast, which put him to 297 to McCain's 146. 270 is the number needed to win.

Ooh! Fireworks outside!

Actually, turns out it was a tie and they're going to make both president.

That's not even possible. A tie means 269 each. Someone needs to get 270 to win.

They had the elusive 'neither' category, though, to the dismay of Gregori.

Which would still mean they'd be tied... at a number less than 270.
