I'm not sure if there was a specific reason why cooking only has dexterity and constitution infusion but cooks can affect an additional intelligence, charisma etc. with a herofete. So in reality, the 'infusion' is already there.
So why can we only, at will, only infuse constitution and dexterity? Even if we can only infuse two, why these two?
Herofete is really glorified infusions. You use a lot less food and you don't need any potion to infuse. Plus you also enjoy the effects longer than normal infuse foods. Having infusions for all other foods will not take away from the herofete.
So here's what I suggest (* are new skills):

Ooh! I want a charisma buff.
I'm not sure if this will go in, because there are so many ways to increase your statistics already. Still, it would be a nice change to Cooking and I would definitely welcome it. (Not in anyway biased because I'm a cook, of course)

Would an extra str/int/cha buff for everyone have an unwanted effect on combat balance?
As always, you need to justify a suggestion like this by arguing mechanics, not the rp viability of it.

Herofete already adds all stats. The mechanics is that it already happens. Herofetes are really easy to do, especially with so many chefs around and dining tables.
Also - forgot strength. Not sure where or what potion.

What about size? EAT/DRINK ME!
Arix2008-11-09 02:34:03
Except now you're moving into enchantments. Also, I would approve of the other stuff as long as I didn't have to retrans

Herofete stacks with the normal infusions, or not?
Arin2008-11-09 04:05:32
Newp...
Basically herofete would override over all normal infusions. So for example if you eat infuse constitution you get 1 hour of added con. If during the hour you have a herofete, you still get 1 added con but however long the herofete lasts for.

I would personally love one for Charisma!

I've always wondered why there weren't platters for other stats.

And hey, chefs could make more money by charging higher prices for more infused stuff. As I understand it, cooking isn't very profitable until trans, or close to.

There's no reason Serenwilde cooks couldn't make something of a profit, even at some lower levels, if they were so inclined. There's a program in place with the cartel.

That's just cause for some reason folks don't charge what they should, IMO. Noola was a cook who's max ability was cookies and stuff, I think, and I always made profit on everything she sold cause I charged for profit (my formula was to take the city price for each commodity in an item and add 5 gold to it. So, if a recipe called for 5 grain and a milk and grain cost 50 gold and milk cost 25 in the city comm shop, I charged 305 gold for the item. Plus, I always bought my comms in the villages where they were cheapest to maximize that profit).
And folks paid it, despite everyone saying, "No one will pay that!" people did.

Did you threaten to feed them poisoned cookies if they won't buy your cookies?

File that under "less scrupulous ways for chefs to make a profit."
Noola2008-11-21 18:01:49
I didn't really. I never got to make that many cookies actually cause sugar was so stupidly hard to get ahold of.
