You can claim a role by saying what your name is, and/or your powers (i.e., "I am Dorothy and I have the ability to survive one death because Toto will take it for me" is fine). It's just not allowed, AFAIK, to post a complete roleclaim that looks similar to, or is identical to, the mafia role PM you received from the mod.

Well, it is hard to say. It is a game afterall so everyone will have their own styles, beliefs and what they think is the right way. Usually, when someone roleclaims ... they either name the role or an ability, but not both outright. Krin posted what he felt he needed to post, nothing more. He was being pressured into it. However it is safe to assume we have someone in game to verfiy comments made in post. If he would have said something simple like 'I am a part of the town'. Someone could verify wether that statement is true or false.

As I recall, paraphrasing is fine if you want to/have to give a full roleclaim, but don't c/p or quote directly.
Partial claims are a bit easier, and still verifiable if the right people are around... and they can also be the difference in painting a target on your rear end, and painting a huge target on your rear end.

Yes, I am here now, I have not made many posts because I have had little to say and because we have had little to go on.
We have currently lost two townies, and Krin gave a very convincing claim so that gives us three towns people. But as far as I can tell we are no closer to identifying any of the mafia.
Since I am not very knowledgable on the back story, I have even less to go on them some of you, more familiar with it.

Well, Biggs and Wedge were supposed to be "bad guys" in the main story, but Wedge's role seems to indicate that's changed. They were guards/soldiers, and according to Wedge, are now just trying to get to the Coliseum. (Big gladiatorial arena.)
I'm not sure how close to the back story we're sticking, now, so familiarity with it might (potentially) be more of a hindrance than a help.
