As it is, regardless of who holds the domoth, the chances of certain races getting blessed is incredibly slim, due to the fact that most races live in pretty much any org. On behalf of everyone who isn't Elfen, Merian, Viscanti, Faeling, Kephera and Illithoid, I'd like to change that so...
Please make it so that there is a limit (preferably one) on how many blessings a race can have at any one time.

Things do seem to be a bit.... one sided, I think the current status is that Elfen hold 6 out of 8, and the other two are viscanti and faeling. This leaves out the other 17 races entirely. Seems overly weighted towards one race when they can have 75% of the blessings at once.
Unknown2008-11-16 20:29:03
Why bless your enemy?
Elfen, merian, viscanti, and faeling are mostly of the domoth holder's 'org', and usually, they want their own org (not others) to benefit from it.

Because you must. See, that's the whole point for wanting this change. As it is, no race but those four, and to a lesser extent Kephera and Illithoid, stand a chance at the racial blessings. That is what I want to change.
Rika2008-11-16 20:48:12
You know, if we limited the amount of blessings to one per race, we'd just give the good ones such as Life, War and Knowledge to elfen, merian and kephera and just not bother with the rest.
Sarrasri2008-11-16 20:49:10
I tend to bless lucidians. But I give life to Elfen because they're squishier. I mean, I have tons of con already so they can use it more than I can.
Kiradawea2008-11-16 21:00:57
I know some do, but it is the exception to the norm. You get a bag of points for doing it though. Collect three to trade it in for a seal.
As you can see, six blessings for Elfen, one for Viscanti and one for Faeling. When Celest ruled the Domoths, you could change that to six blessings for Merian, and I am sure that soon it will be six blessings for Viscanti. And it will keep cycling like that until change is forced.

If it only applied to your org (regardless of race blessed), I'd bless things other than Merian. When I bless Merian, it's a waste, because no one is Merian because they implode under elemental damage.
Ta.

How about each sort of blessing is worth an amount of points. For the sake of argueing, let's say major is 5, minor is 3, lesser is 2 ( or whatever. ) Keep each race to 15 points, max. Major this, major that, minor this, lesser that. That's enough, right?
Just a thought. Maybe humans can finally get that domoth experience bonus blessing.

Majors and minors (or majors and lessers, I forget) apply to communes and guilds, not races.
Estarra2008-11-18 19:09:41
Could make it so you can't bless the same thing as the opposing domoth. That is, if chaos blesses merian, then harmony couldn't also. Same for guilds and cities/communes. Would make it interesting for cities/communes... would they forego blessing another city/commune altogether, or perhaps use it as negotiation for alliances, or perhaps just sell it to the higher bidder...

This sounds good. Limiting the number of blessings one race can have would just lead to a lot of wasted domoth blessings, because there are so few demigods of the rare races and so few other members of that race who would even benefit.
To make blessings more valuable for everyone, how about attaching them to karmic blessings/curses somehow? For example, if your city holds the spectre of chaos, allow all members, regardless of race, to bless themselves or curse others at the seal of chaos for a reduced karma cost. This reduction would be greater for orbs and crowns.

I don't really see how limiting a race to only 4 blessings will result in the lesser used races ending up with blessings. It will add a new element of strategy and result in a little more diversity but that's about it. I think it's a good idea though.

Estarra should post great ideas that everyone agrees to in every thread.

Heh, it won't do much. Celenwilde will bless each other or just not use blessings at all.
This pretty much makes getting all the domoths not worth it for any one org just because eventually, you'll run out of guilds/communes to bless. I can understand halving the power (had it coming), I still don't understand why you halved the essence (specially the demigods), and I can't see the reasons for this either. If an org wants to put in the time and resources to maintain a lot of domoths, I've always felt that they deserve to reap the rewards within reason.
Domoth blessings aren't broken.
