So, I'm absolutely terrible at making decisions so I'd like some input...

I'm interested in buying a cubix, but... I don't know if it's worth it. I'm not someone who raids... or does anything but bash Undervault... I'm planning on buying 1000cr, which will get me 1250cr with the bonus, and I'm trading in my Cameo because I bought it to do something that doesn't even work, so I'll have 1916cr.

See, I would rune up my weapons but I'm sure we all know it'll just be a matter of time before I leave Serenguard and go back to bard... What else could be useful for me? I'll list out my artifacts, there isn't many.

a Great Rune of Prodigious Prowess
a Great Rune of Absorption
a Great Rune of Charity
a Great Rune of Weakening
a Mallet of Forging
a gem of cloaking
a changeling cameo
a Great Rune of Effervescent Heart

And at that... Ideas? Still unsure if I want a scarecrow's hat with my dingbats or a snout... since, again, I'll probably go bard again.

If you're switching from SG, trade in your mallet.
Unknown2008-11-21 15:24:45
I would think twice about trading in the cameo. Every trade in means you permanently lost credits. And in the case of a cameo, -especially- if you intend to switch archtype it may turn out useful still.

EDIT: I've also heard influence runes don't make that much of a difference. (..?) It may be faster to simply changeling to faeling when you want to influence.
Ardmore2008-11-21 15:28:02
Well I'm trading in my influencing runes when I turn in my cameo - and the only reason I bought Cameo was so I could 'reincarnate' if I die incase I have to pray... like I do in Achaea with my Gem... but it doesn't work here! So that was a big waste of 800 credits.

I'm going to be Human, and if I -do- change I'll spend a week or two bashing the gold to buy 100 credits!
Llandros2008-11-21 15:30:37
If you think you might go bard again then you might want to set some credits aside to rune you instrument.
There are some pretty nice ones and grinding to maestro is about the worst thing ever.

The one I bought made a noticeable difference to me. My character doesn't have a high amount of influence, but I wanted to go ahead and get the rune because I had enough credits for it at the time (I plan on having the whole set eventually). Mobs that took 10-12 goes with the first ability in that influence type (she only had the first ability in all the influence types at the time I bought it) only took 8-10 with the rune. So, it knocked two goes off, which is pretty handy.

I still have my maestro instrument sitting in my weapons rack! Again, me switching won't be for many RL months - I don't get good internet again until January and that's when I'll be able to actually see if I can pull off SG or not...

Anyways, the Cameo is going that's 100% position, it's useless to me.

Cubix worth it? What can I do with it? :/
Unknown2008-11-21 15:47:30
I'm not a raider, and I love my cubix. It's incredibly handy for getting to/from Astral, whether hunting or picking sparkleberries. Comes in handy when going to pick up a friend's body to be immolated, too. In general, it's the best way I have of moving around quickly, especially across planes.

Can't say I'm surprised you're looking to change archetype again. How long after that before you change to something else, I wonder? tongue.gif

Back to the subject!

What are restrictions on the cubix?

Can't use if:

Indoors, Prone, both arms disabled, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

Not sure how these's things work, but wouldn't deflation in the US mean things here would be more expensive for you?

Pretty sure inflation would mean more, as it means you need more to get it. I may easily be wrong, still. I'm waiting for us to have a better dollar so we get cheaper prices.

Ah yeah, think you're right. Oh well.

Okay now, new choice... Can anyone tell me if I did the math right? For returning to Bard... One day

Athletics (Fitness)
- 1371 (lost 20% forgetting)
- Learn 1371 lessons in Acrobatics

Knighthood (Melee)
- 1371 (lost 20% forgetting)
- transfer 430 to fitness (losing 20% more)
- learn 344 lessons in Acrobatics (transed)
- transfer remaining lessons (941, but losing 30%) to Artistry (for Performance/Music)
- 658 lessons are now in Music

Totems (Arcana)
- 1371 (lost 20% forgetting)
- transfer 1371 to Music (losing 30%)
- Music now has 1617 lessons
- convert 17 credits which brings me to 1719 lessons

Now convert 286 credits to trans Ecology?

So to go from Warrior to Bard it would cost me 303 credits? Am I even close?

Edit: Still not sure if I want to go herbs, poisons or tailoring so I didn't mention trade skill.

Anyone else? I don't trust Ilyarin's 'Sounds about right!' response less then 30 seconds after I told him to look at the thread tongue.gif
