a couple said I need version 4.27 or higher, I got the newest one out
4.37 is the current version. The main MUSHclient web page hasn't been updated in many months, unfortunately. Always check for MUSHclient Announcements forum for the latest version. (Hint: my web page has a link straight to the download you need to install!)
Isinar2008-11-28 19:00:56
nope wont work still keeps coming up
Isinar2008-11-28 19:02:27
okay, I apologise to the people who are fed up with my stupidness and being an idiot
Isinar2008-11-28 19:13:42

Ashteru2008-11-28 19:16:00
Did you check that folder/the capitalization?
Isinar2008-11-28 19:19:04

I have no idea how you guys are messing up so much. Follow the instructions and you'll get there. If I can do it, everyone else can. In fact, you guys have it easy. When I installed it, there weren't any screenshots.
And the instructions say you need MUSHclient 4.37 or higher. He even links you to where you can download it.

Psh, this is just wrong. I went by the instructions word for word, and it still borked up. I had to get Esano to walk me through a couple things.
edit: Great system though! I like it so far. Mush is complicated but it seems to be worth it.

Glad you like it.
It has a little steeper learning curve compared to other similar applications, which was the reason I kept leaving MUSHclient fairly soon after giving it another try. You just can't beat the power of it, though, and it's free!
Vathael2008-11-28 20:58:31
I got this system to work first try back when it first came out and didn't have all that it has now. Was going to fix it up but mush is just too ugly for me to work with. System looked nice in concept though.

Thanks! Started out just a little rough around the edges, but not bad at all for coding something 99% offline (from previous scripts on other clients). Slowly but surely improving with feedback from my valuable testers.

I really wish mush wasn't retarded.

Over time, the engine and the interface have evolved in a slightly less than graceful manner. It's remained very full of features and extremely fast, but it could use an overhaul to make it more user friendly now. That's why I had started my own client based on the MUSHclient engine, but it's really just a large project for any one person.

I am very happy with Treant and with Iasmos' level of service to his customers. I know for a fact I have asked him some pretty stupid "how do I fix this?" questions and he has either told me to learn2read or explained what I did wrong, or both.
Mushclient is a very decent client once you get passed the learning curve. It is amazingly fast I mean I have a plugin for just about everything and I still don't come near bogging down like I do with z/cMUD.
Anyways, Iasmos is quick to get fixes in and each release just keeps getting better and better.

That wasn't a slight to Iasmos at all, he has always been top notch. I just dislike the interface of mushclient since I've been on *MUD for years now, and adding commands/aliases/triggers on the fly while I'm playing is second nature.

Just a quick question (if I'm allowed an answer without the paid support) but how do I set the sip values for Health/mana/ego?

There was a text file that came with the version I used (it was part of the installation instructions, before screenshots and all), or you can open up template.lua and look in there.
Esano2008-11-28 22:22:53
Oh, yes. And to people who are having problems with shortcuts, either
A`) open up Treant by double-clicking on the .mcl file in the Treant folder, or
B`) install mushclient directly into your Treant folder.
If you use the latter, remember to use that installation rather than any old ones.

How do you set values for the health ego and mana sip? The faq did not say it seems or I am blind

I'd say you just may be blind, since Esano answered your question in this very thread. Open template.lua for examples on how to customize Treant, including the sipping thresholds.
