Soooo what'd you get?
Myself:

Kung Fu Panda, Departed, Sleepy Hollow, Tropic Thunder, Troy, 300, Wall-E, and 21 all Blu-Ray Normally 24-29, BF 9.99 - 14.99.
Pretty tame this year, but I had already bought my new theater setup!

Just my new desk chair - $160 regular, on sale for $60 this morning only. My back is thanking me already, the old one was bent sideways I think... heh.

Since I have a wedding around the corner I have been on a strict no buying stuff restriction. (Fiance was getting tired of me dragging him along to redo the registry because I ended up buying half the stuff on it...)
So I did not go shopping today... very sad...

I bought a hat for $5 that was normally $10. I also bought a pack of six-sided dice, but that wasn't on sale.
Noola2008-11-28 23:19:09
I didn't go. For one thing, my paycheck doesn't deposit until tonight, so I haven't got enough money to make a shopping trip worthwhile. For the other, even if I did, it's such a hassle to carry a lot of shopping bags home on the bus. I'd prolly have only gotten a few things anyway.
Diamondais2008-11-28 23:29:22
Wanted to cross the border for shopping, but my housemates are out of town and I'm having a dinner with my friends. So sadly, I did not get to take advantage.

That was the most terrible pun ever.

My tale is a sad one. I was supposed to be at work at 8am, to relieve some of the girls who'd been there since open (ten pm the night before).
Well, I left two hours early, expecting traffic and at least nine fist-fights in the parking lot over halfway decent nosebleed parking.
To my vast surprise, there were only three fist fights and traffic wasn't bad. So, I decided to go shopping.
Needless to say, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle and Hollister have all cheerfully lifted, between them, a good 2.8k from one of my checking accounts (Oops!).
Upside, I got this really hot leather jacket at Express for all of 390 dollars.
I love my jacket.

Was any of it even on sale?

Words cannot convey the feelings on American attitudes just to save a buck after seeing this.

I went after noon, would never wake up early enough to commit homicide.

Nah, those were not Americans, they are Wal-Mart shoppers, most of them are illegals...

Of course it was on sale! A lot of it was quite cheap!
Of course, the 'Sale!' sign is like an aphrodisiac for me. I get thrown into this orgytastic frenzied rage.
Truly, never get in my way when I see a sale sign.

I got some shirts, a few games, and pushed some asshat into a perfume display after he shoved me while I was shortcutting through Dillards. I managed to convince the random sales clerk that saw it that it was an accident though.
EDIT: oh, and there were other altercations, but they were quickly resolved

Where do you guys shop with so much violence? Everytime I did my black Friday shopping... when I was allowed -mutter something about stupid gift registries making me wait for stuff- I never had any violent encounters or even hostile, it has always been polite and nice interactions...
Arix2008-11-29 02:43:05
I wasn't shopping at Dillard's, it just makes a convenient shortcut to Sears where the power tools are

Yeah... the most violence I've ever personally seen on Black Friday is the threats of it hassled moms make to their (and sometimes other people's) unruly kids in the impossibly long register lines.
Xavius2008-11-29 03:48:40
Yeesh, guys. You know that Black Friday is for buying gifts for other people, right?

I was going to go to Green Acres' Walmart, too.
Glad I reconsidered.
Edit: Please note that getting between a New Yorker and their value-priced goods is a bad idea that may result in death. That is all.
