What is this game doing to me?

I had trouble with the dragon turtle quest. I was so ashamed. sad.gif

EDIT: After completing the children quest, I'm going to rave to whoever thought of that one. It was pretty neat and it didn't seem too hard..

I want to complete the fae child quest but the Well is always dry. sad.gif

That's because you've been playing a lot longer, and understand how this game works. I'm sure it took you 10 minutes. Some of us struggle with every single quest that exists, and it takes hours. They're all frustrating, I think, and that one was just my example because it was the most recent one I've tried.

Except for commodities, they're actually easy, though not fun at all. This guy wants a cow, that one a sheep, and that one a chicken. Wheeee....

And I have no idea where to even begin the turtle quest. So far, I know he's missing his shell, and is afraid of seagulls. But no matter, I have forsworn all of them from now on, so I'm sure I'll be much, much happier now

I've been playing for near to four years now. I still suck at Lusternia quests.

I would always harass...I mean "ask"...my best friends on the game to help when I was still playing.

I can't remember who it was that helped, but I tried the Hilfarae Hills quest, and I spent five hours trying to decipher that one part where you had to say the rune names aloud. Thanks to the person who helped, I was able to finish it.

I think there is a difference between a quest that is difficult and one that is simply frustrating. You may have figured out exactly how to do a certain quest, but have a certain item respawn on you and get set back hours. That's just frustrating.

I also think Lusternia has some of the best quests out of all the IRE games and some of them do seem fun, but I've never been able to get into IRE quests and I think it's mainly to do with the basic mechanic of how they work.

That's something you guys might look into addressing. If quest items/npc's/etc didn't reset for a certain amount of time after the last action taken in the course of a quest, you would eliminate ninety percent of the needless frustration we've all experienced.

So much agreement there.... the resetting while its in your hands and you're sprinting to the next quest point.... BLARGH. Or they could all be the way some like the Tome of Remembrance are. You get to keep it until you finish that part of the quest or someone else does the get item part.
Krackenor2008-12-04 05:57:44
Amen. Items keep disappearing annoyingly fast. Though none so irritating as the Mag collegium influence quest. But I digress.
Shurimaru2008-12-09 19:35:25
Amen to that "Magnagoran collegium quest" bit. I had to re-get the rod and top about 6 times.

Me too! It got a bit silly after a while. I lost count of how many times I'd get the top before the rod, then by the time I got the rod, the top would be gone and by the time I got the top again, the rod would be gone and on and on and on.

*feels special having got it done on his first try*

played from open beta and I have 1 Honors line, a line for basicly having played for a really long time.
Ayisdra2008-12-10 15:41:01
I have been playing for about a year or so and I rather enjoy the quests that I have done so far. My friend (Mag) tries to get me to do quests, or even go looking around awesome places, with her. Sadly Ayisdra and her character have never meet and there would be no RP reasoning beyond them randomly meeting.

I just read the Announce about quest items lasting longer now. Thankyou thankyou thankyou! That's going to make life so much easier! Personally, I agree that the quests in and of themselves are fun and good ideas. I just might be motivated to try a quest again, and test out this longer-lasting item idea. If my stupid dialup connection ever stabilizes, that is.

Once again,
Thank you, IRE for actually listening to us! I'm much more motivated to actually buy credits now, if I ever have some cash to spare!

As long as I have enough left over to pay for therapy for the total addiction that will follow, that is. "What Real World?" indeed, Rika.

I hear some people live in these cushioned cubes that have a toilet, toaster oven, sun lamp, and stationary bike in em. Never have to get off.
