Picture this. You open the door, and lose balance. The other person there has balance, and closes it. You wait half a second, get balance back, open it... and you're off balance again. In the meantime, they get balance back and close it again.
It'd be just as easy to trigger (add it to a queue that waits until you have balance/eq back), only you'd be stuck. And pretty much screwed if there's any other enemy in the room.

It makes sense though. If one is invading enemy territory, one should expect to meet resistance from those on the other side of doors. Another idea would be to extend it so that anyone who can CITY/COMMUNE DOOR LOCK can also CITY/COMMUNE LOCK OPEN to lock a door into the open position, or something

I was wondering how people beat my multiline commands. I knew that I was beating triggers every time, but there were a couple people who would beat me consistently, and I think you're one of them.

I meant without actually needing to have the door open, sorry. By which I mean the door is opened and locked that way via the LOCK OPEN command, allowing city defenders, etc to get to people trying to hide behind a closed door.

Would it be a valid issue if I had a trigger that "open door"d whenever that door was closed and it ended up spamming the game since someone else had a "close door " trigger for just the opposite?

Given "natural game throttling" (the delay when your command is sent and the delay when their command is sent), it shouldn't be an issue to the game. If there was no delay at all (all commands entered on the server) I imagine it would cause a rather nasty little issue.
However, due to lag, it should not do much but spam you.
