Hypocrite, much?

Doors suck. What's the point of them anyway? Can we have doors on Astral too to keep people from running?

Are you being funny? unsure.gif

How about when revolts start, they will always be peaced, and no debating will be allowed, everyone will be treated like they have 10 CHA and inept influence. Doors will vanish, and any thing else that might be used as an advantage to one side or the other...

Oh also, if there are only four mags in a village, then there can only be four celestians, serens and gloms in the village to. Just so it stays fair.

Life aint fair, and the village pendulum swings back and forth a lot, right now Serenwilde is on top, soon Celest will be, and then Magnagora, then Serenwilde again... maybe one day Glomdoring might get that swining their way by some miracle...

In other words Zacc, stop whining... enjoy the bloody game and have fun! If your fun is predicated on 'beating' other people, perhaps Halo will be more interesting, but if your fun is predicated on participating in a rich, dynamic world, well learn to take the smacks with the pluses.
Zacc2008-12-01 01:27:01
@ Noola: Sarcasm.

It's not whining. And no, it's not a matter of "beating" others, considering I'm the one that's usually at their mercy (or should I say the door's mercy and their auto door-closing triggers). If you can run in combat, you should be able to during debates. Debates = nondeadly combat.

Is that magelock skill violent? If it is, it would be nice to have that changed so it can be used in revolts... or at least prevent monolith dropping during peaced revolts (or have them completely bypassed). Being trapped in a room with no way out != enjoying the game.

You appear to contradict yourself here...

Why do you want a way to lock doors shut, if you don't want to be trapped in a room?
Zacc2008-12-01 01:37:17
Well, the goal was to be able to keep them stuck open... and of course, a way to remove it.

Reverse key sigils??
Unknown2008-12-01 01:42:25
If it's all so horrible, you can make doorblast and barge prevent doors from properly blocking entry once they are busted and can't be locked anymore. ninja.gif
Zacc2008-12-01 01:57:48
You can doorblast and barge an open door...?

I'd like to see doors removed from villages completely. What's the point of them anyway? It's not like villagers ever use them.

You can close & lock a broken door, and people can't walk through or open it.

Seriously? That's kind of a silly question, IMO. Or maybe I'm looking at it from the angle of those doors are attached to the villagers' homes and businesses so of course they serve a purpose and of course the villagers use them, even if you don't see it.

How would you like it if some God came along and stole your front door? laugh.gif
Zacc2008-12-01 02:09:20
My front door would be locked to keep all these strange people from far off lands from entering my private residence/shop...

Buut, if doors are a must, where are Celest's gates???

I want doors at all my Forest entrances, too! Let's do a ritual that surrounds the entire Forest with a barrier so nobody can get in or out, and than at each of the current entrances put a little portal thing. You enter the portal, and you're moved to an area that lets you exit to any of the other portals, or one exit into Glomdoring, which we can put a totem and guards at.

And then make it so non-Glomdoring people can't magically move in/out (no teleport, spores, hermit, etc).

I suppose I'll have to send Terentia a long drawn out letter about why we should have a gate we can actually manipulate... in some sort of IC manner (I wouldn't know how to explain it.. there /is/ a gate, but we just can't use it!).

Forests don't have doors! Cities > forests. But sure, a giant briar that surrounds the commune would be fine... as long as communes want to admit to the whole-cities-aren't-bad-because-they're-walled-in thing. Now that would be some interesting RP. Oh, and remove nature flow since there isn't a city flow.

Doesn't need to be a wall. Could just be a magical barrier like Ackleberry has, only with a magical portal in and out.

(Besides, there's a lot more wrong with the cities than 'walls,' and a briar wall is nothing like a wall of stone...)
Callia2008-12-01 02:21:18
Funny he wields the same sarcasm but fails to get it when used on him?

Zacc stop whining, there are so many issues to actually whine about, and you are stuck on one that really doesn't matter...

Doesn't every intersection of Nautilus with another street have a door that can be (and frequently has been) locked?

Tell her that sometimes one wants to close one's gates and currently the mechanism seems stuck open. Seems pretty straightforward to me. laugh.gif
