k, cause you were saying too many roles is hard to balance, I thought you meant as in too many roles with special powers. It isn't that hard to balance 200 vanila townies, it just makes the game impossible to play cause you never get a lynch.

I'll make my 12 person game (or some number close to that) And if we have more people join, I'll just run two or three games at once. (7 layers of hell, or 7 heavans or whatever)

It's a bit late maybe, but I like Daganev's idea. But it also makes me think that perhaps the games could be played differently. By that I mean that you could put the novice players in one game, and the more experienced players in the other game. That'll put players of equal skill against one another, which I think in the end will be more fun for everyone.

In addition, seeing that Mafia is becoming so popular, perhaps it's time to consider running two or more games simultaneously. Of course, that won't happen right now seeing that Noola, who is next in line, already has tons of roles written up, but perhaps later on.

To help that, it'd also be nice if those who run mafia games could write up a small "profile" of themselves and what kind of games they like to run. It's gonna save everyone a lot of grief.

I like your idea of having a 'mafia profile' thing going too. Cause, some folks apparently really like simpler games where there's only a few folks with powers and a lot of vanillas and others (like me) enjoy games where everyone has powers and lots of fun surprises pop up.

So, just so ya'll know, my Buffy game will be filled with powers and surprises and there will be only a few roles that'll be anything close to vanilla.

I was thinking of doing that. You'll see I have a plan.


My profile would be that I like to keep people guessing. the game may be simple, or it may be chalk full of powers. Part of the game is figuring out what's going on. However, I am against giving scum powers to town and town powers to scum. Meaning, I like to use the mafia wiki and give out powers based on the descriptions there. but you never know if you you'll have only one cop, or two etc.

Oh right I know. It was for him I suggested that he split the game into a novice game, perhaps with one or two senior "mentor" players, and another advanced game. Eh, I'll speak to him about it when my game gets closer to ending.

And I guess I should make the first move and create a new "Mafia Profile Thread" huh? Should be interesting.

I've been playing around with an idea for a Touhou Mafia game on paper for about a week now and I'm really liking how it's coming along, so before I write up any more roles, I figured I'd put out a flag and see how many of you would actually be interested in such a theme.
