Casuals also have the option of Ascendant once every 6+ months as their orgs gather the power.
Yes, before you point out the recent rash of them, it's the result of 3+ years of nexus buildup and in the case of the last double Seren, they went below their previous "Do Not Go Below" amount in the nexus.
Man I never thought I'd see the casual vs hardcore debate outside of Warcraft cazzies demanding phat purpz.

WoW has basically four stages of gear.
Whites - general trash
Greens - your basic magic items sometimes some good stuff
Blues - usually what you aim for as a casual player because you don't have the time for much else, on occasion you can get greens that are better than your blues
Purple(purpz) - the highest level of gear you can get. Epic quality and brimming with goodness. Usually you have to grind and grind and grind and grind to get what you want in this category as any given "boss" monster will have a number of things it drops including your purple which is like on the .01% chance to drop scale and you are in a group with 5 - 40 other people, and number of which may also be wanting that item and win the roll for it. (this is why you will find some people notorious for Need and Running... they join a group and select Need on the roll for the item, ensuring they win it, then they quit the group and take a fast run.)

Ahhh! Thanks!
I don't play WoW cause of how you have to buy software AND pay a monthly fee. Mostly cause of the monthly fee. I don't like games I have to subscribe to cause if I can't play for a while, that's wasted money and if I am able to play but am broke for a while, then that sucks too.

Eh. I didn't mind grinding in WoW that much, partially because it was pretty to watch and involved more than push button x while reading forums. There were quests and storylines, I got to play around with my different skills (ie, it wasn't the same exact thing every time) and I got to have fun with the people I bashed with there.
Also, if I died there, I didn't lose the time I'd just spent bashing. XP loss on death, with a static 1-100 level system like IRE has (versus more fluid xp levels, based on how well you've been fighting), really turns me off to grinding. If I want to play around in combat, I have to devote time bashing back to recover for every single death, just to stay even. I can't fight a lot, maybe have a bad day, put some time in bashing and be combat ready again. Instead, it's put a few months in bashing and be close to combat ready.
In Aetolia, end-races got nerfed a lot, and (oddly) the rate of people getting them has gone up. I'm quite happy in mid-80s there, because I can still fight well enough against the end-races and PK kills give scaled XP gain. If I die, I kill 2 of my peers or one end-game race and I'm back where I started. I'm content staying even that way.
I plan on shelling out RL money on Lusternia, because I am at work 10 hours a day, and it's just a better use of my time in game to buy the credits and focus on having fun with the hours I get. Bashing =/= fun, for me. I'll probably get bored and vanish at some point as well, if the whole "Demi is essential" is true.
I don't think laziness is the right appellation - it's just, as said, there are more fun things to do with the time, and not everyone has the luxury to devote the hours college kids can.

Regarding those who think there isn't enough high level bashing areas on prime, the Undervault was supposed to be the answer for that. We've already made tweaks to it once before after complaints that it was too hard, and we're willing to make more tweaks if it is still too hard. Please be specific if you want to give us constructive advice, i.e., what attacks/ailments from which creatures are too difficult or frequent, etc.

WoW is definitely prettier, surprise, but it is still far more overall grinding than any text game. Everything in WoW is grind, and no matter how pretty it is, by the time you killed your 1000th timbermaw furbie just to collect some damn beads so you can get your reputation up... you start going cross-eyed and hating the grind. This is how WoW is in all aspects, half the quests are either Fed Ex/UPS quests or kill 5000 of these things till you have all their whatevers... Alterac ogres were so annoying that way, you gotta get like 10 knuckle bones and it takes like killing 100 of them to do it...
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy WoW for what it is. You just can't compare a text game and a game like WoW and say "They do it like this, so should we!"

Undervault isn't bad for experience overall and the afflictions IMO are not that bad. I bashed it pre ascendant and post ascendant. If any changes I think more of the upper level mobs may help.. the mantekars and such. The place is huge and you can walk whole stretches without seeing anything to kill. This may be because it is bashed out by someone else as well as I happen to get there but it seems a common thing for me to run into.

I agree, and make them clump up more to keep those low-level wannabe's out of my hunting zone. 3 fishers and 3 mantekarrs in every room plz

I don't see how being a high level (IE demigod) gives you the right to claim an area as yours. Especially demigods. Far as I'm concerned, they can stick to astral or whatever for essence and leave the rest of the realm to those who might want to hunt for experience (not me, I just hunt for poisons).
UV is mostly annoying since a good number of its mobs can prone (through breaking limbs, tripping, sleep...) and the adoraths can paralyze.

Never have I said I am not working for it, nor will I not work for it. I am not asking the experience to be reduced to get it, in fact I considered the view point of not making the efforts of those before trivial. I merely gave a suggestion of how to create a group bashing situation, which may be more fun for some. Honestly, bashing in Lusternia is HORRIBLY boring. Because there is little variance to it, and it is not accessible to groups really. But there is so much else in Lusternia that is fun, when I have to decide between fun interesting activity or bashing... well bashing has become a chore.
I do plan on eventually getting demi, and I have excepted the fact that due to an uncoming deployment, children, upcoming wedding, etc... it aint happening any time soon, nor am I asking it to be given to. Merely trying to answer the question posed, how to create a group bashing structure that is not broken and is not like a xp faucet.
