Combat -- Cliques

CLIQUE FORM -- Form a clique
CLIQUE MEMBERS -- See who's in your clique
CLIQUE JOIN -- Join someone to your clique
CLIQUE EJECT -- Eject someone from your clique
CLIQUE APPOINT -- Appoint someone to be leader of the clique should the leader need to leave
CLIQUE FUSE -- Fuse two cliques together
CLIQUE LEAVE -- Leave the clique

Cliques shouldn't have more than 15 people. Ten really sounds best to me.

CLIQUE NAME -- just for fun, but maybe instead of seeing "(Clique) : " it'd let people have fun little names.

Then we can edit fusing cliques to be:

CLIQUE FUSE -- Fuse two cliques together

Which would make it so that if you don't know the name of the person's clique and the leader doesn't AGREE to fuse the cliques, it doesn't happen.


Cliques should be area-wide. If I can't scent you (aside from skunking, of course) I shouldn't be able to get experience from your kills, nor you from mine.


Additional notes:
If Covens get to be groups like that, please recognize that Shadowdancers have Penumbra and Moondancers have Harvest. Unless Moondancers get an additional skill similar to Penumbra and Shadowdancers get an additional skill similar to Harvest, then Glom Covens should be able to group influence and Seren covens should get an INT buff for their MB's and NC's.

Mindlink-groups should get a level one ego regen along with a Charisma buff to keep their ego up.


Also, it would be very appreciated if Healers (or everyone!) could get a skill so that they can get a prompt of some sort when someone in their group has low health, ego (hidden request for the Music Roulade skill to be targettable on others), or more than three afflictions.

If everyone, then maybe another ability in Cliques that would be:

CLIQUE CAREFUL (on/off) -- Look out for your cliquemates.

So it'd be like...

???h ???m ???e, 0p --
You swing a battleaxe at an orc brave
???h ???m ???e, 0p --
An orc brave hacks into Lly.
Lly's health is low!
???h ???m ???e, 0p --


And have it maybe on a 3-5 second tick?

Also, another idea would be that since we're having shared experience, maybe shared experience loss, too? So instead of one person losing 5%, a clique of 5 would have each person lose 1% (or the equivalent thereof for a demi).

I really dislike the term "cliques" as it has (for me) negative connotations and, if I were a beginning player, would think it was an OOC thing. Anyway, what do cliques have to do with combat anyway? That said, great job summarizing!!! hug.gif

I'd like to keep things simple -- i.e., combat oriented theme (squads). Also, I don't think we need anything outrageous (not really fond of formations giving strength, intelligent bonuses, etc.), but some utility skills (keeping group together, picking up items) would be nice.

If you're going to have any abilities that would allow the leader to see the vitals of the members in any shape or form, you need to make it so people have to AGREE to join them.

I really liked the part where the leader can't move until everyone's able.

EDIT: Also, unlike covens, there should be no eq cost or anything associated with joining and booting members.

Maybe throw in some Squad commands for the Leader?

Squad Designate (coolpickuppersonnamehere) -- Designates someone to pick up gold and items.
Squad Designate (coolmeatshieldnamehere) -- Designates someone as the squad's meatshield, making aggro monsters more likely to hit them opposed to other squad mates.
Squad Call -- 3 power, call your squad to your location.


Squad Commands for the Pick Up person:

Squad Split Gold -- Splits the gold on hand to the people in the squad. (should be a simple math function, no?)


Squad Commands for the MeatShield:

Squad Rescue -- One power. Instantly ports you to a squadmates location and them to yours.
Squad (coolaggrowordhere) -- Costs willpower. Causes all attacking/fighting creatures/monsters in the room to attack you instead.

Squad Pick Up persons should have an acquisitio-like pick up ability that works without balance or equilibrium and works automatically.

Squad MeatShield person... maybe health regen, a bump of con, a bump of willpower, something? Maybe nothing, also, but, just an idea. biggrin.gif

Like knots of the fates, or Threads or Links or Strings. Something...

1. Lower Conclaves' cost, or make Call cost 5p.

I see no reason for the squad leader to have mass teleport, if he can't leave the room without everyone having room balance (would that work for pyramid puzzles?)

Also, I don't think you want it to be possible for one person to lead a group of afk bashers. (which is entirely possible if you give the hp warning, and rescue abilities)

I believe that the not being able to leave without everyone having balance is a bad idea, because think of Astral. Five people go up. Midbies. A demi and whatever class it is that can keep you off balance comes along. Only one of you needs to be kept offbalance, then, in order to prevent you all from leaving. Then strolls along a couple of astral mobs which, hey, you can't run from. And the Demi+meanclassedperson manage to slaughter you, then make a quick exit with you and presumably your hunting buddies dead.

The HP warning would only go off if the health hit the red area, in my idea. This means that if someone ISN'T healing themselves AND trying to move away that they're going to die, probably. Even if the designated "meatshield" comes to their aide.

I would argue that this could help healers a tad though and make support roles work a bit better.

As to call, I was wondering why not make it easier(faster/cheaper) to teleport/tesseract to the leader rather than give conclave?

Yes please. I admit the reason I'm really focusing on this is a bit greedy. I'd like to be able to actually be useful as a healer.
