I thought this story was pretty interesting. A citizen group stinging police by growing Christmas trees under a grow light in their own home.

They left out the rather important details of how the cops "found" this grow light in 24 hours and what crime the activist group might get charged with. I'm guessing the two are related, seeing as how I'm sitting about eight feet away from a grow light that actually visibly puts a bit of blue light out onto the street. Not that there's anything bad about keeping an overzealous law enforcement office in check, but it's not good to be manipulative about it.

Awesome.
Why did they spell Cop with a K the whole time though?

I find it interesting that the text account of what happened (below the videos) seems to differ from what the videos show. The text states that the police came in to find an attorney waiting for them, and that they arrested this attorney. The video, shown from the point where the police enter the house, never shows this attorney.

Crooked police tick me off, but people who exist solely to raise hell with police also tick me off. Unfortunately, this behavior by corrupt officers creates a stigma for all police officers. This annoys me because I have friends and relatives in law enforcement.

My sister keeps trying to convince me to become a cop.
Stangmar2008-12-10 19:25:05
I've always kind of wanted to be a plain clothes cop if my plans to become an accountant ever go down the crapper.
Noola2008-12-10 19:26:57
If I would become a cop, I'd wanna be a horse cop. Riding a horse in a park or downtown area all day just seems like it'd be 80%fun 20%work.
Kharaen2008-12-10 19:42:52
You're an equestrian, Noola? It can be quite tiring to ride all day (I've done it) but it's a good kind of tired. I can't think of what purpose mounties provide other than a living monument to the past.

Well, I'm not an equestrian really. I've ridden. Used to have neighbors who let me ride their horses now and then, back when I lived in Georgia. Often enough to know how and have fun. I don't get to ride at all anymore.
And, mounted police in the US generally work in larger city parks where vehicles and even bikes can't get to everywhere easily. Or in downtown areas where they're more maneuverable than cars. They're also used a lot for crowd control and stuff, so you'll see them a lot near capital buildings and federal buildings where folks like to protest and stuff.

That's pretty neat, Noola!

The one thing to remember about becoming a cop, is that more often than not, you will be dealing with some of the worst people imagineable. My criminal justice professor stated that this is why most cops have such an attitude.

And that's just the people you work with.
