I thought my Chicken Soup was decent. Should have added more in the middle, but I was semi-rushed.

I've already submitted the fourth and final chapter of "Quarter". Next month, I'll have to think of something else!

Runner-up again. Oh well. Just gotta keep trying. I'm really starting to wonder if setting up the story into chapters is what's preventing me from winning.

You can do everything perfectly, but if it doesn't hit the judges right it wont win the place you want. That's what sucks about any judged contest.

I'm trying a new three-column format to make the list a little less spammy.

Out of curiosity, what do they look for when choosing Bardic winners? I realize it should be focused on Lusternia, but... I mean, if I just wrote something about my character, I don't think it'd get chosen.
I'd read some, but I'm suffering from tl;dr syndrome at the moment.

Why wouldn't it? Your character lives in Lusternia, right? So, anything he sees, anyone he talks to, anything he hears... all Lusternian. Now, if you write about your character poorly, then sure. It might not win anything.
And poo! If you're gonna write something you expect other folks to read, then you ought to be willing to read what other folks write!

I said I didn't feel like it right now! I'll read some later, jeez. XD I honestly don't think I'd ever submit anything I write, because I think it's all crap. I wrote something about Lucan recently that I ALMOST submitted, but at the last minute went, "Meeeeh, I don't want anyone else to read this other than the two people I've sent it to! It's far too corny! T_T"
So yeah.

I never feel very confident about the things I write either. I always have to have someone tell me they like it before I feel like it's worth anything.

I'm the same way. I'm more confident about my art (because people have definitely commented on that positively). I've gotten good compliments on some of my WoW stories, but for some reason, I just can't think of what to write about regarding Lusternia as much, probably because I'm more restricted on what characters I can use. (Can't include my alts, for instance.)

Bardics are OOC.
You can include your alts all you want. Just, it had better make sense story-wise or it will lose points on a "Is this Lusternian?" scale.
Don't try to submit it IC, because that might get into a bit of a trickier situation as your characters technically should not know each other, so they could not write about one another.
