was I the only one allowed to tell my role?

The Mafia didn't have that line either.
Doman2009-02-17 03:26:59
ah, in other words, the "bad" guys could.

Except for Kira, hers would blend in too well.

may I ask the point then?

In the movie, the main characters are not allowed to reveal their name or anything to each other, just in case one of them gets caught, they can't rat out the others. In this sense, I wanted people to make up role claims, or... failing that, lynch anyone who claimed. Hence the cops had useful townie roles they could hide under.

Actually, the idea was you would likely assume after the first lynch that all of you have the line, save for the Mafia, then, you would lynch the people who gave their roles away.

That works until they go "Look, the mod can confirm for me." Then you're stuck with a choice. You either modkill them for breaking the rules (the option I would take, since they pushed the rules themselves), or not reply, which we'll pretty much have to believe to be true.

Also, it is possible that not all the town has that line.

If there is such a rule, you have to enforce it hard.

I had no way to win
Doman2009-02-17 05:52:54
if you hadn't done the damn batsignal, you could have
Arix2009-02-17 05:54:36
Oh right, could've batsignalled Doman. Oh well.

And you guys should have Casilu tell you about the wacky shenanigans she got me to agree to when I replaced Ronny.
Doman2009-02-17 06:10:48
why don't YOU just tell us
Arix2009-02-17 06:12:19
Cuz it'd be funnier and more believable from Casilu
Casilu2009-02-17 06:14:22
I didn't give him the role until night. That trade was made for kill-immunity. Just to spice things up!

It's important to be able to trust the mod. It's frustrating when we're expecting modkills or an answer or something.

It's also important that a mod not interfere to "make things more interesting" in a way that screws the town. We had it narrowed down to just a few suspects, Arix being one of them. Giving him the ability to seem trust-worthy when we were previously already suspecting Ronny was really really uncool.

I apologise for "bailing out" on you all towards the end, my cat got sick and died a few days ago. I'm only now returning to the forums/lusternia.
