You display a painting of a bright point of light in the dreary forest for all
in the room to see.
You nod your head sagely.
Rika ponders the situation.
Orithon smiles softly at you.
The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
Aiyana claps her hands together merrily.
You smile impishly and say, "From my favorite spot in Ethereal Glomdoring."
Rika tells you, "What is that a painting of?"
You tell Rika Talnara, "A place in Ethereal Glomdoring. Would you like to see
it?"
Rika tells you, "Ah, I was not aware. Sure."
Rika begins to follow you.
Rika smiles softly at you.
You flash Rika a joyous smile.
You place your hands on the Master Ravenwood Tree and find the link to the
ethereal plane. Pulsating energy flares throughout your field of vision, and you
find yourself tumbling through the aether pathways.
The resonating centre of Glomdoring's black heart.
The Master Ravenwood Tree towers over everything here, pulsing with an
immeasurable yet dark power. Casting darkness all around, a shadow totem thrusts
up from the ground, chilling the air. An archway of thorns rises up from the
ground. Settled within the branches of an ancient and skeletal tree roosts a
murder of crows, their voices harsh and deafening as their caws peal through the
air. Firmly set into the ground, a pulsating branch of the Master Ravenwood has
been set here. A rowan sapling clings tenaciously to the ground here. There are
15 shadowlord widowriders here. In the shape of an open palm, a metallic sigil
lies here. There are 62 iridescent spores here. Radiating with the power of the
wyrd, the very presence of this champion darkens the room.
A panoply of bubbles obscures the exits.

You say, "Here we are."
A bright point of light in the dreary forest.
Little flickers of light dance across the bark of the nearby trees, motes of
radiance filtering down from the openings in the canopy above. The only source
of light in this dreary forest this little vale provides a much needed sense of
hope and vigour that endures despite a climate that attempts to eradicate it.
Small pebbles with interesting inscriptions lie around the perimeter of the
valley and a sense of peace seems to emanate from them. A rowan sapling clings
tenaciously to the ground here. Rika Talnara is here, shrouded.
You see exits leading southeast, south, and southwest.
Glancing around at the peaceful area, you say, "Few people recognize this area
is here, ironically enough. But I find it to be most peaceful."
Rika Talnara takes a few steps around this part of the forest, eyes scanning the
area.
Rika Talnara murmurs, "Such a peculiar place."
You smile and say, "It is..."
You say, "But it's a nice place, no less."
You say, "I have never known an argument to be had here, nor a death of any
kind."
Rika Talnara kneels down and gently picks up one of the pebbles. Frowning in
thought, she examines the inscriptions on it.
Rika Talnara asks, "Do you know what the inscriptions mean?"
Shaking her head slowly, you say, "Nay."
Smiling softly, you say, "But that's what makes them so wonderful. You can give
them your own meaning."
Rika Talnara looks thoughtful and says, "I guess."
Curiously, you ask, "What do you take them to mean, Rika?"
Rika Talnara says, "I would not dare to guess. I do not know enough about the
forest."
The horizon glows with burnished shades of orange and red, heralding the
imminent arrival of Father Sun upon the rim of the world.
Ponderously, you say, "Mm. I suppose. But it may also be you do not know enough
about yourself, too."
You step down off of a mare blessed by Night.
Rika Talnara frowns and says, "What do you mean?"
The sharp sound of a twig snapping echoes behind you.
Lifting a stone and showing you the side with the inscriptions, you say, "Maybe
that is what Glomdoring is about. Maybe the inscriptions each have a different,
personal meaning, because we each of the Glomdoring have a similar yet different
view of what the Wyrd is, and what it means to us."
Rika Talnara says, "Perhaps that is so. The Glomdoring is still unfamiliar to
me."
Rika Talnara sighs softly, placing the pebble back on the forest floor.
Eyes alight with an imp-like curiosity, you say, "Perhaps when you know more
of the Wyrd and the Glomdoring, these inscriptions will tell you their secrets."
Myrkr places her stone back onto the ground, and hovers over to
Whysper.
You easily vault onto the back of a mare blessed by Night.
The sound of wings flapping heralds a screeching murder of crows flying
overhead.
Rika Talnara murmurs, "Perhaps."

Lyrics from: The Lion King!
I can see what's happening.
And they don't have a clue!
They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line;
Urazial gets the boot!
The sweet caress of Mother Night!
There's magic everywhere!
And amidst all of this romantic atmosphere...
Disasters in the air!
Do you feel the love tonight!
I can see what's happening.
And they don't have a clue!

Myrkr presents a consistent and well-portrayed character as always. I, personally, wish Glomdoring was a bit darker and cruel than I've discovered it to be. As I mentioned earlier today in a clan, it seems more "cute dark" ala Halloweentown, which was not what I thought I was getting into at all when I joined as a newbie. I was imagining MacBethian-style witches and Sandman-esque fairies.
A nice log, if rather sentimental.

They... don't let us be cruel anymore.

Oh, silly SD. You're supposed to cauldron release and try to suffocate out the light with Choke.

Off topic, but a question for Urazial: What do you mean? The IG messages, skills, etc all seem like the admin wanted Glom as nastier than it is. Did admin-enforced RP shift change that?

From what I understand, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but the original Glomdoring WAS as you imagined it. There were then complaints from various players (no idea who, or whether they were new or old) which forced the admin to step in and mellow the cut-throat RP.

The claim from the admin was to cut out the cut-throat OOC IMs and Emails forcing people to do things.
