I just can't see Ackleberry coming back not-aligned with Serenwilde unless the admin make some drastic change. I mean, it's like if Gloriana came back instead of when Glom had come back, if it came back without taint, and Viravain spent years or whatnot remaking every single room instead of trying to steroid her way through, that forest would have been super-aligned with Serenwilde. I mean hell, all three communes had like constant threeways of love and respect orgies back in the day. What changed for Serenwilde? Nothing. What changed for Gloriana? Tainted-cum-Wyrded, what changed for Ackleberry? Distance. If they came back, and removed the distance, I would see them being exactly the same as they were. They'd have to come back, and either something happened to them in Neverland, or they come back, and something happens to them after they come back. I doubt it would be ACKLEBERRY GOT TAINTED--I mean, that's been done with Gloriana/Glomdoring, and let's be honest, the Taint is the Prince Slith of Lusternia, for all you Achaean types that catch the reference. So maybe they came back and they pull a Scorpion and wow, for some reason, they don't mind allying with Soulless remnants (Magnagora, Illithoid) or maybe they are anti-EVERYONE, and Gloriana is different, New Celest and Magnagora are cities, and Serenwilde has lost their way because of all the things they've been through, maybe they've become too ruthless.
Hell, maybe Ackleberry comes back and the Wyrdling goes home and they all hug and snuggle and then Glomdoring and Ackleberry rally against the monster that is Barbaric Serenwilde, and usher in a new era of commune dominance over infidels and cities alike.
Guess which one I'm voting for.

Player RP must also be considered, though. First, do Serenwilders today (the players) act the same as the Serenwilders of Ackleberry's time (the historical figures)? Second, and more importantly, Ackleberry as a player-run organization would succumb to one of the fates to which Glomdoring succumbed - every single person has a different idea of the 'ideal RP' for the organization (as it is -started- with players) and every single new leader would try to take the organization as a whole in their personal direction.
EDIT: Jojobo, Hallifax, Gaudiguch, and Ackleberry in that order. Hallifax if only because I want to make demesnes while flying. As for the 4-org monotony, that'll be broken up if Krellan's kicked from Glom. Oh ho ho.

Krellan is so not getting kicked from Glomdoring while I'm Marshall.
You better not get shrubbed, Krellan. I don't care how many seals you think you can get.

FYI, I believe there's some hints that the Ackleberry Great Spirits aren't that happy with Serenwilde (*cough*prophesies*cough*).

Unfortuneately, there are also many many IC reasons why Celest and Serenwilde shouldn't be in bed together, and yet...

Celest brought the taint
Celest is a city
Celest hates undead/light dislikes nature spirits. Spirits are undead. I used to Starcall Radiance on them and burn them^_^
And most importantly
Celest are IMPERIALIST PIGDOGS
As for all this "2 more cities would break up N/S" arrangements, I find that highly unlikely. My guess is it would just add ones more group to each side. People like nice, even group vs group, not group vs group vs group.

Ackleberry would at least be a place where people could be neutral, theoretically. It would have been smarter to open up Ackleberry with 3 new guilds instead of making 8 new guilds in orgs already in existence - it would have certainly expanded the playerbase and not caused such imbalance with combat.

For some reason, I imagine the Honeyguard getting a spec that causes saplock with blackout.
I wonder what the Lake fae would be, though... maybe a Sidhe, or a Siren?

@Estarra: As upset as Lake and Bear might be at Serenwilde, the players would find a quick way to make Acklewilde. It would just happen. Regardless of what denizens would say or do.
I seriously doubt we're ever going to see new orgs, at least.. not until Lusternia hits the age of Achaea, maybe. We need a whole larger population for five guilds in each org, plus I dunno how you're going to RP Gaudiguch going: "Oh, a Kephera. Nice to meet you. We were stuck in time. Oh, you want to teach us Harmony? Hm.. Harmony, eh?.. Maybe we should just go back to being stuck in time." or whatever. Or Pyrosingers anyone?
I can't really see Tael ever leaving Serenwilde. Sure, he grew up as a Furrikin and cared for Ackleberry, but that point in his life is over for the most part. I'm a hardcore Moon zealot now:

I'm afraid I have to agree that Guadiguch/Hallifax/Ackleberry would have been much better than Monks/Bards. While I've played and semi-enjoyed both classes - the RP that is possible with these three entities is FAR better.
Along the lines of Saran and Ev's comments about their willingness to make characters which could help the cities/commune to become what the divine had intended - it's probably not likely but I do have to say it's a good idea. I've never quite understood why IRE hasn't made use of this sort of thing. We have ephemerals/celani and docents and mortal builders, why not recruit some dedicated players to do things like this? Ya'll appointed guild leaders at the beginning of the game rather than leaving it to the electoral process - not like you can't do it again with new orgs.
For Guadiguch and Hallifax it'd be nice if they came back and still hated eachother - which is my interpretation of their relationship. Guadiguch is the partying prankster who gets on Hallifax's brainy nerves. Kind of like an annoying little sister/brother!
Ackleberry, please god, NO SNUGGLING!!! Would be so nice if they came back all barbaric
All in all - I'd love to see more orgs. I'd even make a new character and buy credits <3
: PS, I toss my hat in with saran and ev! I am at lusternias divine service

They were very good at making sure that glomdoring didn't team up with Magnagora. I think they will be able to do what ever they decide they want to do with any new orgs.

Edit: However, I do believe that Acklewilde can be avoided. Simply put, the divine patrons would have to discourage snuggling with Serenwilde. And enforce it.
I think Celenwilde could be broken up this way, too. Because as it stands, it aint gonna happen
Daganev2008-12-29 19:24:04
yes they were.
You have no idea what it would have been like if they weren't.

I don't get people who say that Ackleberry should come back barbaric and extremely anti-anything. It's a commune that consists primarily of Furrikin and Tae'Dae. And have you seen the Tolborolla valley mobs? And what about Estelbar, one of the "always-peaced" revolt villages. No, I think that Ackleberry will return as firmly neutral to everything.
Saaga2008-12-29 19:39:37
Me too, Deschain. Let's gather our belongings and move to the Statue that guards Hallifax. Perhaps we'll see progress in 10 RL years if we wish hard enough.

Yeah, I've also always wondered how Ackleberry could be thought of as barbaric in any way. I can't think of anything I've ever seen or read that points towards Ackleberry being any kind of barbaric or war-like or aggressive. Seems to me that they're like Sweden or something. Only with cuddly bears and woodland critters that talk.
But.... maybe being lost in time has warped their brains (like going into the wormhole did to the folks in that movie Event Horizon) and when they come back they'll be like the Christmas Critters from Southpark. All snuggly and adorable and eager to you up.
Kiradawea2008-12-29 20:18:00
That'd be fun, but I doubt it. Personally, I want Ackleberry to be firmly neutral. They don't like Celest and Magnagora and Glom and Seren, but they'll tolerate them.
