Flying above Estelbar Path. (road).
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky.
You see exits leading northeast and west.
The crooning notes of a siren song envelop you, and you find that your body
cannot resist their call.
You plummet head first into the ground with a sickening crunch.
The raucous notes of a wild song assail your senses, leaving you stunned.
A kephera nature warder says, "The forest is sacred, viscanti. Tread carefully."

A loud humming vibrates throughout the Village of Estelbar.

'Estelbar Path'!"

You are no longer stunned and have a brief stun immunity.

A frost hag flies towards you suddenly, wrapping her arms around you, an extreme
cold blistering your skin as you feel her touch.
A frost hag stares at you, then suddenly emits a high-pitched screech at you.
The soundwaves pierce into your very being, weakening you in body.

Nuts, dirt and stones fly up at you inexplicably, striking you hard in the face.
A kephera nature warder flicks his shofa gracefully in the air before you, and
suddenly you find two bloody streaks upon your body.
You have been slain by a kephera nature warder.
Siren's call my arse...
Edit: Bard guard. Not monk.

That's not a monk guard, much less a Seren monk guard. That's a bard guard. Everyone has them. Stops them being lame and flying over guard placements effortlessly both ways.
Kante2009-01-06 07:13:11
I believe I meant to say bard to begin with, simply my disappointment took hold...
Everiine2009-01-06 07:14:34
All bards have the ability to put those types of defenses up. It's not OP, it just finally stops us flyers from being able to infiltrate places with no resistance.

They'll also snatch you right up to "normal" elevation from burrowed to bedrock.
I remember when a certain someone liked to fly in for kick-and-runs and I had to set a sylph hostile and hope that its, at the time, six second tick hit at a good time.

If there's one place where I hate the bard guard, it's the one right at Eth Ravenwood >:(

Nerf Black Nest Moon Falls. >:(
Edit: Sorry, forgot I had changed sides.

I know it's not OP. All in all, it's a great idea. It just lessens my heartache to call it OP.

What I object to is the fact that hexagram/geyser/other odd skills and attacks go straight through shields.

Of course they do. What are people supposed to do about a shielded flyer otherwise, just sit there?
Kiradawea2009-01-07 02:20:33
I dunno. What are flyers supposed to do against an opponent that wants to bring them down?
Unknown2009-01-07 02:21:27
Just to point out the obvious: this is most definitely in the wrong forum.
Krellan2009-01-07 03:18:44
FYI: Hexagram is the only one that will go through shields. All of the others are preventable.

Something a little more clever than fly;invoke circle, if they're intending to completely get away unstoppably from half the game.
Everiine2009-01-07 16:43:08
Can you invoke circle while off balance?
Shiri2009-01-07 16:43:47
no
Everiine2009-01-07 17:32:21
Didn't think so. Flying is a terrible way to try and get away from a battle. You fly up in the air, and anyone who has seen that tactic before will be able to knock you down before you recover enough balance to move.
Gwylifar2009-01-07 21:14:58
Psh, taking me too literally. Flying's not that bad though; odds are your opponent's also off balance at the moment you do it. What I can't remember is whether being shrouded prevents the leaving message when you fly. I seem to recall that it does for some methods of flying but not others.
Kiradawea2009-01-08 00:11:22
Doesn't stop wings, that I know about. And flying has a long balance loss, so even if your opponent is off balance, he'll get it back before you.
