Some people have been thinking you got it off of that one band. xD

No.

Maybe? I dunno. I'd like to play, but I dun have a GM 'cause none of my other friends play.

I know a lot of people do little internet games of it, though I never join in. Over in the GiantITP forums, they have a few threads just for it.

I might have a look. Thanks!

I can't believe it, though. At least I said for the record that it's from a song, not a band... >_>

Jozan the Cleric?
Unknown2009-01-08 22:20:52
Yep, Shaddus. The cleric of Pelor...who's actually a monk on Lusty. FAIL

Yeah, but you mostly influence, so it's almost like you're a cleric tongue.gif

Shurimaru. Well, I made him during my (brief) Narutard phase, so I wanted it to sound all Kishimoto-y. I went with Shuri (Shuriken - ken) + maru (an addon for boy's names.). Kind of lame.

My alt's name is from my favorite Weezer song. (Now, those who care to figure it out might piece together who my alt is. I WON'T SAY IT STRAIGHT, SO STOP ASKING MEH. >_<)

I KNEW it. I immediately started singing the song in my head when I saw it. And now it won't get out of my head. T-T

I remember seeing a site that had all of the basics of DND in it too, complete with a set of RNG's to replace a dice set, I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

I know way too much about this game, considering that I don't play it...
Eliron2009-01-09 00:39:57
Eliron - a variant of the Hebrew Eliran, meaning "My god is song"

It seemed fitting for a bard, and it has a very smooth, rolling pronunciation which suits Eliron's (usually) relaxed personality.

My original character, Peter, got his name from a the main character of a story I started but never had time to finish. The Peter in the story as a total prick.

My current character's name is Chroi, which I pronounce 'K-Roy' because I was messing around with the name 'Troy', but the spellings of 'Kroy' and 'Kroi' looked to funny... and at the writing of this, with a proper 'ch' sound, it comes out like 'Troy'.

Turns out though it's an Irish term of endearment pronounced 'Cree' and 'Mo Chroi' means something to the effect of 'My heart'.
Lendren2009-01-09 00:51:44
Recycled from an NPC in a roleplaying game I run. The NPC is a bit of a simple ordinary fellow who's not too bright, so I made up a name that came off as being just a "regular guy" name. I originally wanted this Lusternia character to be quiet, out of the way, not noticed, and not that involved in things. Thus, I wanted a name that was bland and easy to overlook, and I didn't want to invest a lot of time and effort into choosing it, so I just grabbed the same name. Nothing ever goes as planned.

Nepthysia was named after Nephthys, the Egyptian Goddess.

Aison2009-01-09 01:36:26
Aison's just a version of Aeson (pronounced the same. or differently. whatever rubs your buddha. I say it Ice-son, but it is supposed to be like Ee-son). Aeson was just some dude from Greek Mythology. An out-of-the-way character. like Lendren I was aiming for a simple name for a simple char. I never thought Aison would go where she went.

She was also supposed to be a boy. I changed my mind last second since this is my first and only char on Lusty, and girls tend to have an easier time in IRE.

Synl is pronounced sin.

But everyone knows replacing i with y and adding random silent letters is the bee's knees.

I always pronounced it with a long A. sort of like A-son.

MORE GORE

No, I actually made it up, and by happy coincidence it had that phonetic.
Unknown2009-01-09 02:01:31
My first choice was "Agroskavinskickadrick the Masked Chipmunk," but that was too long.

No, actually, I got Iasmos from some site with lists of names.

I had an alt for a very brief time that was a compound of two names from that site: Yngvardeogul. A guide asked me to change it because it was unpronounceable (really?), and so I made it Yngvarmanos instead, which was actually the guide's suggestion. smile.gif
Iola2009-01-09 02:08:32
Iola means violet-coloured stormcloud. Partially I thought it was pretty, but it was also meant to go towards a chaotic fae type nature (funny how characters don't stay as planned wink.gif).

Tacita means silent one. I chose it because she is a head-down-and-work type, but now that she's a Harbinger and worshipper of Nocht it is also amusingly ironic and fitting respectively.
