A few ideas I'd like to see that I feel would improve the dreamform aspect of dreamweaving. At the moment I think the motes are fine for normal combat, but dreamform itself sounds like it is even less effectual than when I was last using it. Anyway, here's what I'd like to suggest!
New Ability: Dreams
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE DREAM (target) (message)
Cost: 100m, 25wp (twice the cost if soothing or wearying)
While in dreamform, you can send a short dream of your choosing into the mind of a sleeper. As an additional option, a soothing dream will significantly boost the willpower of your target, while a nightmarish dream will instead sap their reserves.
Changed Ability: Sap
Instead of sap stealing the health of a target, instead it should absorb a small amount of the willpower of the target, returning some to yourself. This would be prevented by shielding.
New Ability: Reform
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE REFORM
Cost: 300m, 100wp (takes 3 seconds of no interruption to complete)
By concentrating your mind upon your dreamform, you can close psychic wounds and heal some of the damage your dreambody has sustained.
Changed Ability: Possess
Move this ability down slightly to maybe Mythical or Fabled. For the same 8p while asleep limits, possess would allow the dreamweaver to enter the mind of the target indefinitely. The target would retain full control of their character, but the dreamweaver will now be able to hear channels as the target does (excluding tells). The dreamweaver can only LOOK and DREAMWEAVE RELEASE (to stop possessing) without any risk. They may also use the following commands with a 25% chance to be forcibly ejected when the command resolves:
POSSESSOR FORCE (action) - To have the victim perform a certain action, limited as current possess is
POSSESSOR ILLUSION (message) - To send an illusory message to the victim only
Any other dreamweaver in dreamform will be able to immediately detect the parasitic presence of a possessor, with a modification to the victims room desc like "Elryn is here. His dream aura bulges with the parasitic presence of Bob." Any psionic damage that the target receives has a 50% chance to force out the possessor. While in possession mode, the dreamweaver experiences willpower drain at a rate twice as great as normal, and does not regenerate power.
New Ability: Suggestion
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE SUGGESTION (target) (command)
Cost: 200m, 50wp, 2p
Rank: Virtuoso
While in dreamform you can speak directly into a sleeping mind's subconscious, implanting a suggestion that will be triggered a few moments after waking.
New Ability: Dreamscape
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE DREAMSCAPE (target)
Cost: 200m, 50wp, 5p
This powerful ability shifts a sleeper physically into the dreamscape from which you are attacking. As they do not share your training, every moment they spend in dreamform wears down their willpower relentlessly. Should they run out before escaping, they will be lost to the dreamworld and perish. They can return to the physical world by focusing on their body (FOCUS BODY), which removes them from the dreamscape after 3 seconds at their current location. Be warned that bringing your target into the dreamscape will allow them to strike you with damage-only attacks, as in dreams even a phantasmal sword can kill.
New Ability: Manifest
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE MANIFEST (object)
Cost: 250m, 100wp
Draws an object on your person through the dream realm to your dreambody's location. Note that any sigils attached to an object will generate magical interference and prevent you from manifesting the object.
New Ability: Sleepwalking
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE SLEEPWALK (target) (direction)
Cost: 350m, 75wp
By carefully manipulating a sleeping mind, you can force them to walk without waking and retain no memory of the event.

Hm. Some interesting skills / ideas here. Not so sure about the dreamscape one (would depend on exactly how it would be implemented).

Oh, another one to consider:
New Ability: WakingDream
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE WAKINGDREAM (target)
Cost: 300m, 100wp
By blurring the boundary between the waking world and the land of dreams, you can alleviate the tiredness of an ally.
Does anyone have feedback or other skills they'd like to see in the skillset? Or adjustments of the one's I've set out, for that matter.

I approve of all of these skills and modifications, save Dreamscape. Good ideas!

I thought Dreamweaving already had that. I proposed something like it for envoying for Spiritsingers back when we had the sleep focus and were told we couldn't change it; and someone (can't remember who) said we couldn't ask for it because dreamweavers already had it.

nah, we just make people tired and put them to sleep and then... can't do anything.
I already told Avaer I liked most the ideas but didn't think dreamscape would fly. Though if we do get another report I agreed to add his ideas to it.

Ah, its certainly possible... I remember really wanting it as a dreamweaver because we had no positive abilities at the time - it was all about warping dreams. I wanted to be able to give good dreams! (Or dreams at all for that matter, heh)

And so much dreamscape distrust makes for a sad Elryn .
Come on, it would be fun to be able to bring a friend into dreambody mode and take them on a quick adventure!

Or rip an affliction class out of the fight and burst them into the grave while they try to beat you with their crappy damage.
Sure, it's a focus cure, but you could always move them.

The idea is that its not ever that hard to get back to your body - the most difficult part is probably if the dreamweaver sleepwalks your body one room away, but then its just MOVE;FOCUS BODY.
I concede though it could be hard to balance well enough to be useful and not overpowered, so any alternative suggestions would be welcomed!

I really like these ideas! Except for Dreamscape. That one is a little iffy. Everything else sounds good though.

EITHER way, can all of the Mage/Druid envoys, and any of the other ones who care, request a Dreamweaving report?
We desprately need it
I want my skill back.

Gregori and I did make posts, yes.

Dreambody Shaping?
I was at work and had some random idea about dream bodies reshaping themselves to become more apart of the dream realm. Shapes have limited combinations and forcing yourself back in to your body after using them could have an effect until the "disorientation" ends.

That sounds pretty nifty, actually! I think you could come up with something a lot more interesting than I could.
I'll have a think and get back to you though

Conscious Sleeping: This defense will provide the benefits of sleeping while otherwise awake and alert. Essentially, health regeneration and endurance regeneration. It can be toggled on and off. It has a mana drain associated with it (although no willpower drain).
Sleepwalking: While in dreambody form, you may cause your sleeping body to move at a delays! Sleepwalk.

I don't know if this is too powerful or not, but would be nifty:
Succubus/Incubus
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE SUCCUBUS
Cost: 400m, 100wp, 2p
By assuming the form of a seductive tormentor, you ensure that your personal enemies will gain no nourishment from sleep while you hover within their dreams. You may also DREAMWEAVE TORMENT in order to send them an embarrassingly memorable dream that will sap their willpower and leave them lusting after you.
Hmm, I'd rather move them than me... assuming most of the time I would have chosen a safe spot to sleep from.
