The Beauty seal should be held to the same standards as regular submissions. It's not too much to ask that those that submit designs put the time to look over their work and edit it accordingly. It's a once a year event for the fate of Lusternia. Personally, I'd hate to see us all doomed when Kethuru returns because Fred can't spellcheck.
Really, Eventru, just because everyone isn't farting rainbows, glitter, and happiness doesn't mean you have to threaten to close a thread(again). It's a pretty reasonable request that a lot of people seem to agree with.

Actually, Akui made a good point, I'd prefer if people ignored 'OMG ITS NOT BRITISHIZED' mistakes and focused more on 'WHAT IS THIS UN-DERFED WORD' spelling mistakes in the desc.
A mixture of both.
A mixture of both.

Britishicizing words is a problem for me. Because I have an American-English spell checker.

Well, let's not dwell on beauty either way. I'm certain your complaints have been heard, and Revan, among others, have made them clear - which was more my point. We hear you. Some people still have hard feelings about it, on all sides - let's not drag it out.

If you use word, I think you can set it to spell properly. Can't help you if you use anything other than that though.

Just say "bloody" a lot and assume an attitude of vague superiority and you'll do 'em proud.

And why would I bloody do that? Just to bloody prove a bloody point? I don't bloody think so.

I have an even better proposal really.
The Admin make an official post stating that they will pay more attention to grammar and we all STFU and stop this bitching, moaning and year old dead horse beating. How's that for a nice, solid plan?
But wait, wait, WTF was I thinking?! Knowing these forums, it would, at the very best, make about 50% to shut up, the other half would carry on moaning about last year or find something else to moan about.
And just so I don't get jumped for being an unconstructive bastard:
Move back the Beauty submission deadline and to avoid last minute submissions stacking up. In that case if you still get overloaded with last minute entries you now have more time to sort them out and then either give another week or so for the rejected designs to be re-submitted (given that they are exactly identical, minus the errors), or if they don't move the deadline back and just reject entries with errors with no chance to re-submit.
At any rate, it's hard to be in Administrations shoes when bunch of unthankful bastards will moan anyway.

And don't forget all the extra letter U's. Just put them in anywhere you see an O to be safe. Oh, and flip all the er endings.
Crazy British spelling!

If I'm going to bother the British, it'll be for something useful, like what the hell is a Celsius?
Note: I know a Celsius is.

What about, why do they drive on the wrong side of the road?
(I kid, I think British folks are super! I have always wondered why ya'll drive on the left though! And if it's cause the steering wheels are on that side... why are they?)

People have always driven on the left since at least Roman times. It's only more recently that you've gotten confused and started driving on the wrong side of the road. Don't make out that we're the ones doing it weirdly.
The theory is that if you're driving on the left you have your right hand (usually your strong hand) facing into the road to deal with things though (according to wikipedia.) Which I guess makes sense.
And the steering wheels are on that side because we drive on that side, not the other way around...

QUOTE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_on_the_left_or_right)
...the Romans drove on the left.... ancient travellers on horseback generally rode on the left side of the road. As more people are right-handed, horsemen would thus be able to hold the reins with their left hands and keep their right hand free.... The first legal reference in Britain to an order for traffic to remain on the left occurred in 1756 with regard to London Bridge.... In the late 1700s, the shift from left to right ... was based on teamsters' use of large freight wagons pulled by several pairs of horses. The wagons had no driver’s seat, so a postilion sat on the left rear horse and held his whip in his right hand. Seated on the left, the driver preferred that other wagons pass him on the left so that he could be sure to keep clear of the wheels of oncoming wagons. He did that by driving on the right side of the road.... Countries that became part of the British Empire adopted the British keep-left rule, although many have since changed.... Over the course of the 20th century, there was a gradual worldwide shift from driving on the left to the right.... Today, only four European countries continue to drive on the left.
Of course, Americans have no basis to make fun of British for refusing to get with the times, when we still don't use the metric system.
ObOnTopic: Even if they aren't ready to admit mistakes were made, you can be sure they won't make them again, so I don't think we need to worry about it.

Eh, can we? The reasoning Estarra gave last time ("we aren't going to be super picky for something this important so we can judge it on artistic merit instead of spelling") doesn't seem to have changed.Gwylifar2009-01-19 16:37:23
Historically, even when people have steadfastly refused to admit there was something done badly, the intense scrutiny ensured that they didn't do it again -- if only to be sure that they wouldn't have to hear the same bitching. I doubt anything with so much as a misplaced comma will get through this time.
