We have updated http://www.lusternia.com/ascension2009.php with dates
and times. The first ascension event (chaos) begins next week!

Note for the Seal of Beauty, you must submit your designs to charites by
February 15, and the winner will be announced on February 22.

Also, Vernal Ascendants may compete to become a True Ascendant if they
wish. However, True Ascendants may not compete for a seal. We will make
one exception: a True Ascendant may be on a war team; however, they will
be ineligible for the seal.

So.. can we message the charites with a design # we made in 2008, or does it have to be a new one submitted specifically for the event?

I wonder if Beauty will be a complete and utter disappointment again this year

The only disappointment for me last year were a few who complained about who won in what sounded to me like sour grapes.

Nothing has changed about the contest and I'm unsure what changes could even be possible. As in the past, it will be blind voting among the admin. The only complaint I can see is that you don't like the admins' aesthetics, strictness in grammar or whatever, but that doesn't change the fact that it's about as far as you can get for something like this.

I thought I remembered that last time, it was a lack of enforcement of that very same 'strictness in grammar'. There were some winning designs that would most likely never had made it past the Charites.

Note: I didn't submit anything for it, so no 'sour grapes' here either way. But I do hope that all designs add something positive!

Actually, I wasn't really talking about changes to Beauty. There's really nothing that could be done there in that people's tastes will always be different. I was just wondering if any of the other contests had any revisions to them at all (not necessarily rebalancing), but something to make them more exciting and fresh this year.
