Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "The Elder Gods and their
fulcruxes have been cured from the poisons of so much essence driven into them
from mortal offerings! Even now the space between the aethers is being
transformed as the gods create realms to release these energies so such disaster
will never again."
Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "But this comes too late to
undo the damage that has already done! The strain on Avechna's Peak has weakened
the Nine Great Seals! We are threatened again with disaster! And so, we turn yet
again to the mortal races!"
Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "In the coming months those
mortals who think they are worthy enough to control one of the Nine Seals must
meet and do challenge! Then, of the nine chosen, one shall rise to ascend truly
and thus charge the Great Seals for yet another generation!"
Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "Spread the word far and wide!
An Ascension has begun!"

Wonder what that means, exactly.

All the temples have been redone. Snazzy.

All the temples are now aetherbubbles.

Oh, Malicia asked a bit ago if Vernals would be able to compete in these things. Still a relevant question, I think.
(And what happens to things like a forge that were already in the old temple? Since Fain's new area looks like it's pretty much his old temple, including a privacy-gem room)

So, does that include Divine who had no temple?

Subj: Ascension Event 2009
We have updated http://www.lusternia.com/ascension2009.php with dates
and times. The first ascension event (chaos) begins next week!
Note for the Seal of Beauty, you must submit your designs to charites by
February 15, and the winner will be announced on February 22.
Also, Vernal Ascendants may compete to become a True Ascendant if they
wish. However, True Ascendants may not compete for a seal. We will make
one exception: a True Ascendant may be on a war team; however, they will
be ineligible for the seal.
Good luck to everyone who competes!

So.. can we message the charites with a design # we made in 2008, or does it have to be a new one submitted specifically for the event?

I wonder if Beauty will be a complete and utter disappointment again this year
And has anything been changed at all about the contests?

I think so long as it was made in 2008, that would be fine.

The only disappointment for me last year were a few who complained about who won in what sounded to me like sour grapes.
Nothing has changed about the contest and I'm unsure what changes could even be possible. As in the past, it will be blind voting among the admin. The only complaint I can see is that you don't like the admins' aesthetics, strictness in grammar or whatever, but that doesn't change the fact that it's about as fair as you can get for something like this.

Actually, I wasn't really talking about changes to Beauty. There's really nothing that could be done there in that people's tastes will always be different. I was just wondering if any of the other contests had any revisions to them at all (not necessarily rebalancing), but something to make them more exciting and fresh this year.

I thought I remembered that last time, it was a lack of enforcement of that very same 'strictness in grammar'. There were some winning designs that would most likely never had made it past the Charites.
Note: I didn't submit anything for it, so no 'sour grapes' here either way. But I do hope that all designs add something positive!

That was the opinion of some people who I think had sour grapes. In my opinion, the winning designs were all done well and would certainly have made it through the Charites.

There may be some small changes but pretty much it will run as before. The exception may be to the final ascension where there may be noticeable tweaks based on some issues we saw creep in last year.
