pacify (cause this is a poison and available to every player in the game)

Rofl you think we're going to get a pacify poison when they gave us OP pyrotoxin?

Hardy har harr.

Lol, no. Chasm+Barrier is not "too strong." If you die to chasm 1v1 because of barrier, you did something wrong.

And no, considering how pinleg functions, I wouldn't think you should be able to start it while pinlegged.

edit: I'm aware this wasn't 1v1, but that's how the admin insist on balancing things so..meh.

Simple math disagrees. You can lock three channels. Each read of disruption randomly removes a single channel (thus potentially requiring you to have to disrupt three times in a row) with a 5 second recovery. If the geomancer has barrier setup in advance and starts chasm initially, you may not have time to disrupt 3x, recover equilibrium, and move.

This has happened to me on several occasions.

chasm is still 12 seconds. 12... the longest timed instakill in the game. once you see it... stop your offense (it takes maybe 2s to recover arm balance? just guessing here) read scroll one or two times and tumble. Bam. I don't see how this is unavoidable in 12 seconds if you pay attention.

Edit: also, judge/pit combos are far far worse than chasm/barrier

Disruption scroll has a 5 second recovery. If you read it twice, you have -2- seconds to leave the room assuming perfect timing.

EDIT:

Trying to justify something a single person can do with something multiple people can do is silly. It's also illogical. It's like me saying: Spiritsinger passive damage isn't that bad. 10 Cacophony users have way nastier passive damage! (thought I'd use an example Thoros would appreciate).

The other options of gusting/burrowing still exist.
Shiri2009-01-14 01:50:05
Can you gust through stonewalls?
Unknown2009-01-14 02:00:31
Well, in the specific case of Malicia, bond unite is just such an amazing ability. Gets into pentagram, out of barrier. Schweet.

But yea, Evade totally needs to get through Barrier. D:

Uh if you think you can gust through a stonewall I'm going to let you stay under that belief.

Are you being facetious? Burrowing is just not a feasible option because 1) most people cannot burrow 2) various environments prevent burrowing all together. Likewise, gusting is prevented by stonewalls. It also is prevented by summoning protection, which at size 25 (for all titans/demigods) is insanely high. I've gusted people size 25 with full defenses and failed 10+ times in a row.

Is this before or after Mantra Wind goes through barrier?

No, my guess was that you couldn't but I wasn't sure. That removes -another- option then.

Burrow is accessable through beastmastery. If stonewalls are up the only person to blame as to why barrier didn't go down is yours, due to the fact that you could have been using disruption while they were putting the stonewall(s) up. As for taking 10+ times for gusting someone, that's luck right there unfortunately, and as we know it luck plays a big part in Lusternia combat.

Edit: Burrowing is also accessable through an artifact.

The bottom line is that it could take up to -15- seconds to disrupt barrier to exit chasm and then at least a few to exit the room. Chasm, itself, only takes 12 seconds to complete. This is the exact same argument you made against batbane and deathsong.

Gust was an option in that instance, but you didn't consider it "good" enough. Change of heart?

Yeah, but all the good people seem to be moving over to Aetolia, so I picked that. It's a double-troll.

EDIT: Also, if you want to complain about Barrier, complain about how if I sip Anatine and gust myself out of the room I can form a trap that you can't disable.

There was no chance with batbane affliction. It prevented earwort from start to finish. Also, bards have summon resistance PLUS dodge. Mages don't have dodge.

Everyone has shrine protection! You're fudging this!

Heh, to play devil's advocate, mages do have dodge. It is in beastmastery.
