Yeah, that nerf to Chasm is entirely unjustified.

Nydekion is making 1v1 chasm/barrier sound a lot more viable than it actually is.

Well, one on one it should be *reasonably* simple if they start an insta against you and you can cure reasonably well. I suppose it they can keep you in the pit long enough to amputate your leg or something and then start the insta, you might be hard pressed to get out in time.

But then again if they manage that they probably could just kill you any old way they wanted.

Let's do some simple math.

Given:

A geomancer in his/her meld that has cast barrier and stonewalled all exits except one room. You cannot glance into this room to see this setup because of dust storm.


CODE
Target Recovery in seconds                                  Geomancer Recovery in seconds

1. Disrupt - 5 seconds                                  1. Stonewall - 4 seconds
2. Disrupt - 5 seconds                                  2. Chasm - 12 seconds
3. Disrupt - 5 seconds
4. Exit      - 1+ seconds


In the 15 seconds it takes to disrupt 3 times and exit the room (under absolutely perfect conditions), a geomancer still has time to chasm you.

True, one-on-one is a different situation. However, it doesn't really look like his comment is based on 1v1 at all (especially as Synl's and Thoros' aren't).
