Wiccans and Guardians are unique in that they have to either spend power, or specifically go to their plane to retrieve their companions- which means that there is a short period where they're essentially crippled when they initally log on. In addition, during raids and the sort, it can be suicidal to step up onto the plane and retrieve your companion(s), so, I propose a skill that would let you spend the power once and recieve a vitae-style defense that would kick in when you tried to summon your companion(s) off plane.

Wouldn't a vitae like power cost power? And if so how would it be different from just spending power to summon off plane?

It would let you spend the power in advance, as opposed to having to pay for it on the spot. Essentially, you would be able to prepare a summon, and hang onto it for just in case something happens, and you don't have your companion(s). Then you'd be able to summon on the spot for no immediate power cost.

You should always be able to jump onto your plane and do your summons if you really want to save power. You don't have guards there for nothing. I really don't see a need for it. If anything, Channels should be looked at first.

I recommended channels to be envoyed. We'll see if/when it is.

Something is being envoyed for wiccans right now.

What exactly are you recommending? Its mere existence is, itself, an envoy suggestion-- one that provides a great deal of benefit if you want to use it. (You're not actually required to, and it's probably not worth the cost unless you're expecting on being in combat a fair bit, but it's very good in that situation as-is)

I'm suggesting the that the cost either be removed or drastically decreased. It's a defense that lasts until you quit the game, not something that you have to bring up for a short time to be in combat. It's also not something you would ever be bothered to bring up during combat, it's something that should be part of the regular def up process. With the extraordinary power consumption that guardians already have to deal with, it just seems ridiculous that this ability costs 10 power.

Wrath makes sense, it greatly enhances your ability fight, and it's something worth bringing up again in a raid after it goes away, if you get a break from the fighting. Same for enigma or fool tarot.

I'm suggesting that the high power cost be replaced by a longer equilibrium cost, so that you still need to do it prior to a fight.

Just seems bizarre that it cost 10 power for what it does.

... it summons your entourage instantly and costs you absolutely no equilibrium. If that's not worth it to you, don't use the def. It is pretty powerful when used appropriately, and certainly shouldn't cost no power. :/

Compare having it as-is to not having it at all, which was the case before we put it in as Envoys with the power cost.

Well I guess I won't be using it then, since it isn't worth 10 power.

You said yourself it wasn't, unless you would be fighting for a while. What happens if you get ganked in the first ten minutes of fighting? Assuming you'll be fighting for a while is assuming you will not die during the entire course of that 'while'. That rarely happens, even to top tier fighters.

To you, perhaps.

But that is, in fact, one of the points of the power cost-- to help counter the "I should always have this up!" feeling (the one you described yourself in a previous post). The fact that you feel it's not worth it to you, but it is worth it to others who use it more often, actually implies to me that it's working about as intended.

Edit: And to your edit, see this post right here. It's not actually intended to be an 'always' defense, but a very useful buff to your offensive capabilities when you do decide to use it. It's up to you to determine if you're able to make the most of it for its cost.
