ACROBATICS - BALANCING

Syntax: BALANCING
Like a cat, you can balance yourself in such a manner that you stand a
chance to remain on your feet from those attacks which would knock you
over. This takes concentration and will drain willpower and mana to keep
up.

=====+=====

Much like knockdown (for both AL and BC), an attack that prones + stuns DOES NOT stun if balancing keeps you from falling. It's quite nice although the willpower drain is ridiculous. It's 2x metawake.

Edit: nvm

I thought headslam always stuns, since we've done away with the size modifiers.

Tought so too. Maybe in this case it would've knockdowned too and because of balancing neither stun nor prone fired? No clue

No idea what you are talking about.
Ronny2009-01-17 20:04:45
Headslam should stun anyway though since its a sure stun and chance to prone.
Narsrim2009-01-17 20:05:35
Regardless of what it should or should not do, the answer to the question is Balancing.
Unknown2009-01-17 21:39:11
Nerf Balancing then.

Nerf Balancing then.

Why? I rather dislike when people who have no insight into combat or really any understanding of the issue at all make such statements. Balancing has a -massive- willpower drain - perhaps the largest of any skill. It can be maintained for only short periods of time before literally taking you from full to zero willpower. On top of that, it also has a mana drain AND it doesn't always work. It has a small chance to work.

I'm sure you knew that, however.
Desitrus2009-01-17 22:05:27
My change for still including the stun but no sprawling is still being discussed by the Divine, stay tuned!
Narsrim2009-01-17 22:17:28
And if that happens, Balancing should have a significantly cheaper cost.
Unknown2009-01-17 23:31:13
So if a skill works like it should, balancing should have a cheaper cost? Wtf is the point of balancing anyway, you have spring up.
Unknown2009-01-18 00:26:57
Balancing is to give you a chance to prevent being knocked down like it should. It shouldn't prevent stun though. It should'nt receive a smaller cost if its fixed either; balancing is still doing what it's meant to do.

I'm tempted to ask how you misread my clear English. However, I'll spare you (and me): Balancing is working as it was intended to work. It's true that it may change. The point, by the way, is a passive defense that allows you to remain standing. This has several helpful implications, which I will lead you to discover by yourself.

I disagree. If you stun someone because you "knock them down" and in turn they "don't fall down" then it makes perfect sense for them to avoid the stun penalty.

That isn't the case at all with headslam.
Desitrus2009-01-18 01:02:58
Headslam is 100% stun with chance of prone, not vice versa.

No, in fact it makes absolutely no sense because the point of the skill is to stun, not knockdown. You should at least remember that it did not always have the prone chance before making such ridiculous claims about the skill.

The skill states nothing about preventing stun, from your own posting in this thread. It would stand to reason that you should remain standing but still become stunned and still be within the guidelines of the AB file.

Besides, think about it rationally. Guy slammed his skull into your face. It is NOT the falling down part that causes you to be stunned.
