I'll say this much about tarot:
Lusternian combat revolves around group combat. That's just reality. I use glamours because glamours is the group pk skill. When you play a game where 10+ zergings are king, illusoryself will save you more than aeon will. Tarot, IMO, is a 1v1 skillset so no one uses it because they don't want to die. I've been wanting to try it, but city bard DMP is pretty pathetic, and illusoryself is the sole reason I can tank at all.
Narsrim also raises a good point about Cacophony dominate. It requires deafness and the message to tic before you can use it, so anything that requires balance (emptying vials, shoveling, etc) isn't as easy to pull off as it is for a Nihilist. Have to find that fraction of a second between when stun wears off and when they attack you. Force enemy/unenemy is going to fool a system with a simple check. I don't use dominate, and I'm sure there are things that could be done with it that are useful, but don't confuse it with TP/Nihilism dominate, because it may have the benefit of being passive, the deafness+blanknote stun aspect kind of limits exactly what you can do with it.
Blackout+soulless has been around forever. Won't work if you know it's coming, and it's hard to not know it's coming unless you fell asleep at the computer. It'll fool people, sure. Will it work in groups? No, no time to get a soulless. Will it work on top tier? No, they know better.
