Herbs Affinity

So right now, once you get trans in Herbs, you just get a bonus to herb eating. But what if there were a slightly more complex "Affinity" system for herbs? Eg:

-You have a separate level of "affinity" for each herb, or perhaps a certain number of kinds of herbs, say 5 different herbs.
-Your affinity for an herb increases each time you do something to help the plant. Right now, the only thing I can think of for this is planting the plant in a room where it isn't growing (note that this helps motivate people to plant!!)
-The higher your affinity, the more likely special things happen to you with regards to that plant. For instance, maybe your chance of harvesting spices when you're targetting your affinity herb decreases. If your affinity is 100%, maybe you can sometimes harvest 2 of that plant while attempting to harvest just 1. Maybe you can hold a plant for longer and still be able to plant it. Things like that.
-Maybe, the higher your affinity, the more quickly you can eat that herb, up to the equivalent of a level 3 herb bonus for 100% affinity (this would require different levels of herb-eating speed for different herbs; I have no idea if this is possible). For the smokable herbs, perhaps you can increase the number of puffs as you become more in tune.
-Affinity would accumulate slowly. Maybe only a couple of percent per Lusternian day (a la instrument practicing). Note that for the replanting-giving-affinity idea, there would be certain months of the year when you couldn't get affinity.

Just a fanciful thought in my dreams of making Herbs more interesting...

That would be cool, but OP for some races, and a bit hard to code.
