I was just curious, but does anyone here know any websites that have some good quality serial/pulp fiction sort of stuff? I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for, so anything even remotely close would be helpful. Basically, I'm looking for the equivalent of a professional-level webcomic but in the form of serialized fiction.
Anyone know of anything like that?

Have you tried fictionpress.com ? It may be .net or .org, I don't remember. It's a site where amateur authors can put their prose up for people to read. It's rather hit and miss with quality, but you can pretty much figure out by the synopsis.

No, I know of places that like. I'm looking for something closer to a web-comic in format--one author, putting up a prose story in a serial format, but having it be more of a professionally polished experience rather than the amateur thing.
But thanks for the response anyway!

Really depends on what you're calling "pro." There are a couple of prose webcomics I know that I find readable (and I don't even find most bardics readable so I suppose that's good) and which sell books of the stuff (Gunnerkrigg Court comes to mind) but if that's not enough to qualify then I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for.

No, that sounds about right. I can't seem to find them, so if you could give me the names, that'd be awesome.
Edit: Actually, I just looked at Gunnerkrigg Court, and that's an actual visual comic. I'm looking for something that's full prose.

Oh, I see. I thought you meant prose as compared with 4-panels gag comics or something. I got nothing then.

Sorry. I probably just worded it poorly. I was comparing it to a web-comic simply because that's the sort of format--posting parts at a time, polished feel, that sort of thing.
But yeah, no one I've asked has heard of anything like it, and that just blows my mind. I thought everything had been done on the internet.

Hmm... the only thing that comes to mind is this, and it may not be to your taste- it's rather... gothy.
Also, do you mean serial fiction as in an online novel that's updated weekly/monthly?
(Btw, Gunnerkrigg Court is lovely, even if it's not actual written prose.)

It's not all one author, but it's very good-quality, daily speculative flash fiction.

That's perfect, actually! Regardless of the goth-i-ness, I'm mainly just glad to see that things like that do actually exist.
And vionne, thanks for that as well. Anything I can find is better than the nothing I had before.

They do. Kelley Armstrong used to do serial fiction and short stories on her website before stopping in 2007.

I proabably shouldn't be admitting this, but I read it, regularly. It's awsome. GC that is.
