The only time it isn't ok is when folks expect to get out of the IC repercussions of being inappropriately silly by saying "but being silly is my RP!" Cause the consequences are roleplay too.

But, having a dour, serious character doesn't = a good roleplayer and having a silly, irreverent character doesn't = a bad one.

I think I understand how wounds work. I wasn't aware that monk damage was so low that you could focus on curing wounds so easily, though. Good to know, thanks.

From what I've seen, wounds don't play a factor in Nekotai combat. If you attack with angknek/angkai you will get the proper affliction, period. I've never personally hit with one and not gotten the affliction.

Slitlocking requires five momentum and five power to properly modify the form, but basically always hits if you have senso and don't miss/get parried.

To be honest with you, Nekotai combat is a bit linear. Speed mod to get momentum, slitlock, and finalsting with crotamine if you can. If the finalsting doesn't stick you may be in trouble against high level tanks, but you can try to compensate by stacking poisons and afflictions. All that said: it can still be very fun.

Plus, if you know what you're doing, a combo can potentially give six afflictions at once. spit poison for one, double angknek/angkai for two more, poisons on the blades for two more, kick for a potential sixth (depending on the kick you use, and if you have the momentum to put a kick in the combo). This is, of course, absolute best case scenerio and you can realistically expect three or four afflictions per combo if you have spit balance.

Someone who wanted flexible combat went Blacktalon? Why didn't anyone warn him? blackeye.gif

If you're DW, you have some slight viability outside of the all powerful demesne.

But to make a point, you will never gank a competent person as a BT. Unless you're lucky. Or they're afk. content.gif

...uh huh. You mean you can drop a couple drowses before you're reminded that someone has to be the squishiest class, and you're it?

Well, you can't have it all. Fighting a druid class inside of their meld -sucks-. Especially one on one. If you're unlucky enough to walk into a meld that someone has set up unprepared then you're probably toast. In order to balance that out, you can't have them be tanks too. Imagine a knight who could set up a bunch of passive afflictions that hit you every couple of seconds.

Every class has it's strengths and weaknesses. Incredibly powerful inside of meld means tragically weak outside of it.

You're preaching to the choir here. Tell that to Iwi. tongue.gif

Glomdoring is starting to recapture some of the wonderful RP style from long ago. I think people are starting to understand the vibe more these days, thankfully. There are still a few hurdles to jump, but it has improved.

Shadowdancers has a vast field to play on with RP...though it waxes and wanes like everything else.

We may really be related. I thought of making a moon joke, but decided it was too corny. suspicious.gif
